Nobody enters the portal and transfers somewhere they will ride the bench. Even if there were a quality QB in the portal last offseason, zero chance they come to Clemson to ride the bench behind a guy with the second best odds to win the Heisman and had the starting job locked up. Certainly DJ severely underperformed. But refusal to accept transfers isn't the reason for a lack of a quality replacement.
