Big Oil vs Congress yesterday:
Apr 7, 2022, 9:29 PM
|
|
Dems: Why do you continue to price gouge Americans? High prices at the pump are all your fault.
BO: Prices are set by world markets. We do not price gouge are we are responsible to return reasonable profits to our shareholders.
Pubs: Gas price increases are due to this administration's policies and regulations and have nothing to do with Putin. We need to go back to energy independence for the US.
Of course, like all Congressional hearings, nothing will come of yesterday's meeting.
Who ya got?

Dems looking for a scape goat...

They know they are headed to slaughterhouse in November and looking for anyone to shed blame. They even tried making tiktokers their propaganda mouth pieces.
Oil companies profit margins are relatively constant. Higher priced material, higher profits.

good to know that your ideological principles act as a lubricant at the pump, congrats on being a true American and taking up the ### like a man, not like those liberals who, well, pointed out that Exxon mobile made record profits last month, or as noted, reasonable profits for their sharholders.

So typical, whining about a made-up problem.
Ever consider the increasing population (even though Biden has killed a lot of people with COVID) and increasing fuel consumption leading to record profits? Maybe people and trucks are driving more now that Putin cured COVID. I know the highway I am on each day is very congested - seems like more so than before COVID (which is unlikely, so I guess I am spoiled from 2 years of light traffic).
You focus on "record profits" like you think you deserve some of them. Why is that?
You can get some of the profits by investing in big oil, if you'd like.
And, don't the tens of thousands of big oil employees that pay income taxes and buy chit (and pay sales tax) deserve to have an employer that is financially stable and fiscally responsible?
Not every company can be like the gubment and spend nearly 2x what they take in.

welp, does not hurt me, 3 miles from the office, and if I pay 35, or 60 to fill my tank, it is not going to throw my finances off. But lots of people are hurting, fortunately, shareholders are having a record quarter. It will probably trickle down to the rest of us eventually, and remember, one day you will be wealthy too.

gallons sold. You wont get much. And the taxes are more than the total profits, I think. You like fact checking, so here you go: https://www.factcheck.org/2008/04/gasoline-tax-profits/Gasoline Tax Profits - FactCheck.org Q: Does the government really make more in taxes from the sale of a gallon of gasoline than the oil companies do? A: Possibly. Both taxes and profits account for a large share, but which is larger depends on too many unknown factors to allow for a clear answer. FULL ANSWER Let’s start with the basics.
But the left has its scapegoat, so they'll sleep well.

Why hasn’t DeSantis got Big Oil drilling off the FL coast?
Apr 7, 2022, 10:53 PM

I have been traveling between SC and FL for last 9 month or so. Driving back to FL today I observed an interesting phenomenon. Florida gas prices are now about 50 cents higher than SC. For the last 8 months the gap was about 25 cents? SC gas prices are dropping and FL are up a little bit. This seems strange _ anyone know why?
