DON'T DO IT

May 28, 2012, 12:42 PM

The ACC is by far the best overall conference in the country. Best baseball, best basketball, and still have the teams to be a top football conference if they stick together. No other conference can match that top to bottom. I'm just saying, it's crazy to throw in the towel based on a couple of down years.

Sorry if the words "deeply connected" are so offensive to you, even though it has nothing to do with you.

Keep fighting the good fight, thom.

It's funny you once asked folks to stop being so sensitive.

By the way, you most definitely said you know deeply connected people at both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. That's impressive to be getting inside info from both universities. Seriously.

This?

I like the way you deleted the questions you couldn't answer though. I especially like question about you saying Clemson was much further along than FSU, but both Clemson and FSU were done deals. It's a little confusing how you can get any further along than "done".

For what it's worth, I do believe they're done deals.

best overall conference means winning championships or contending for it....that is something the ACC has not done in football or baseball.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To be fair we've had contenders in baseball

May 28, 2012, 12:51 PM

However, that certainly does not makes us the best in baseball.

The ACC is good/very good year in and year out in baseball, no doubt. But the best? far from it

Re: To be fair we've had contenders in baseball

May 28, 2012, 1:18 PM

The SEC has had at least one team in the championship round five of the last seven years, winning three. The ACC had a team in the championship round two time over that period, winning zero. Kind of hard to argue that ACC baseball is the best. And the ACC BCS bowl record is whatever is below miserable.

Re: To be fair we've had contenders in baseball

May 28, 2012, 1:50 PM [ in reply to To be fair we've had contenders in baseball ]

The ACC in baseball has had some great teams over its course of time but for some reason they can't make it all of the way. Since 1990, and ACC played in the title game just 4 times (GT in '94, FSU in '99, and UNC in '06 and '07).

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wrong!!!!!

May 28, 2012, 1:51 PM [ in reply to Re: DON'T DO IT ]

Having one or two teams in a conference win a national championship does not make that conference a great conference. It makes those few teams great teams.

EPIC FAIL, dude.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Wrong!!!!!

May 28, 2012, 1:54 PM

so you think the ACC in a better conference?

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

...and best academics...

May 28, 2012, 1:08 PM

I know nobody cares about that. But it's true.

The only thing this conference lacks is a few programs that take turns competing at the highest levels of college football and winning some MNC's and BCS bowls. If we could do that, no one would be talking about leaving, IMO.

Re: Big East is the best basketball conference, baseball is

Not much debate when the ACC hasnt won a CWS since 1955. Embarrassing that someone would even argue it is the best baseball conference.

How many ACC teams are hosting baseball regionals? 5

May 28, 2012, 1:57 PM [ in reply to Big East is the best basketball conference, baseball is ]

How many SEC teams are? 3 (4 if you include Texas A&M)

Big 12? 2 (If you include Texas A&M).

What does that say about the strenth of baseball in the ACC? You tell me.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: How many ACC teams are hosting baseball regionals? 5

May 28, 2012, 2:00 PM

how many times has the ACC been like that in years past and not win a championship? Every team in the ACC could host a regional but it doesn't mean jack if you don't win the whole thing.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: How many ACC teams are hosting baseball regionals? 5

May 28, 2012, 2:06 PM [ in reply to How many ACC teams are hosting baseball regionals? 5 ]

wow. This is just plain embarrasing. Did you know that the SEC in the last 3 years have won THREE times as many baseball nat champs, as the acc has in the last half century?

This is not an argument you really want to make.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Amen Brother!***
