Big 10 had its own agenda after all

Probably the alliance means nothing to them now.

I always thought the alliance was a joke. There never was an agenda from the start. I don't blame the Big 10 they are doing what they need to do to keep up with the SEC.

The ACC certainly thought we made a fantastic alliance.

And they are doing as they begin negotiations on new TV deal

I think they may have 1 upped the SEC by capturing the LA TV market. That’s a huge move on their part and it will show in the new TV rights deal.

The separation in terms of TV income for the SEC and Big 10 is going to separate all those schools for a long time. I can see a scenario where each school will get near $100mil annually.

Love the ACC but we have to do something. If I’m Neff I am at least making phone calls to a couple commissioners. Hand of the GOR issue to some attorneys and look for a way to settle or just pony up and pay it. The potential income would more than offset a settlement w ACC.

Yup, Its a pro market town

Jun 30, 2022, 9:31 PM

Thats why i never buy these ideas that certain teams bring these lucrative tv audiences. Ooooooh BC, we got the Boston and NE market! No we dont, because no one up there gives a flying sh*t. Its all nonsense.

Moontiger Think of Fox Sports and ESPN who are funding college football and calling the shots as sponsors or bosses ... and think of conferences, commissioners and universities in highly paid employee roles.

That Alliance turned out to be like the 1938 "Munich

Jun 30, 2022, 10:01 PM

Agreement", and the ACC is Neville Chamberlain.

For those not history buffs, Britain brokered "The Munich Agreement" with Hitler's Germany in 1938 when they invaded Czechoslovakia. They ceded the "Sudetenland" to Germany, in return for Hitler promising not to go to war to annex further territory.

Neville Chamberlain, British Prime Minister at the time, returned home and declared that he had brokered "Peace in Our Time". Oh, how wrong he was.
