Big 10 expansion talk back with Washington and Oregon...

1

If we want to renegotiate the ACC contract we will have to expand. Why not add Oregon/Washington? It's not like Penn St and Ohio State are all that much closer. Or if travel feels like a no-go then why not talk to WVU? If that is what it takes to renegotiate and get a current value then why not?

ACC could only get Big 12 leftovers

and group of 5 schools at this point. ACC expansion will not help financially and more than likely whoever we would get would be more of a burden. Bolting before it's too late is the best move at this point.

Not sure if you've been keeping up but unfortunately...

bolting is NOT an option. If it was then we would have already left. We are just looking for a short-term fix (Between now and 2036).

So....

If bolting is truly not feasible, it appears the only solution is for the ACC to renegotiate the TV contract. Our arguing point is more money for the schools will improve their football/basketball programs and create much more viewer interest. One thing bringing in Syracuse, Pitt and BC did was add major markets that haven’t paid off yet due to the weak teams. So the increased TV money for the schools creates better teams with more viewers and the TV people make more. Everybody wins.

One solution is for the ACC to give Clemson and FSU more money to keep the conference viable beyond 2035.

It is the best option for schools like Duke, Syracuse, and Boston.

Otherwise, the ACC folds in 2035 and Duke, Syracuse, Boston, etc are essentially what we call group of 5 schools.

If we stay until 2036, our program will be a mere shell of what is is now. We will be 100% irrelevant.

Our solution is the SEC!***

you want to add 2 schools on the Pacific coast to a conference called the Atlantic Coast conference?

The type of closed mindedness that would keep USC and UCLA..

From joining the "Midwest Conference"

Not the same at all

The B1G made their move because of the LA market and the USC brand. Simple as that.

The Oregon and Washington markets combined are a postage stamp in comparison.

For obvious reasons, they had to invite UCLA too and will probably wrap it up with Oregon and UW to give them more company.

They could rename it the "All Coast Conference"

American Coast Conference.

Why would Washington and Oregon...

2

join the ACC over the B1G?

They wouldn't.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
