They are the reason people don’t want the vaccine. If you’ve had the vaccine and still panic when you can’t find your mask you’re sending the message that you have no confidence in the dang shot!!

How is this

any different from this?

On top of that, if you look at the current IHME projections, they seem to hinge more on “universal masking” still more than anything. If we keep getting vaccinated but open back up again, they forecast our COVID levels to stay the same or even slightly increase from where we are now.

Seen too many of my closest relatives go down w/ dementia/Alzheimer's/neurological stuff. When I start slipping I'm going to find a way to off myself so the family gets the insurance money instead of running for POTUS.

right?

I say that kind of thing all of the time at work.

"I need to go do blah blah or I'm going to be in trouble with HR"

It's somewhat folksy.

He needs to runs or he's going to get in trouble with the press secretary who has another interview lined up, etc...

It's funny because he's the POTUS and he can pretty much do whatever he wants and no one is going to complain to him, but it's a way of acting humble.

The lengths that people will go to to complain or question the POTUS is astounding...and I say that about a lot of folks in regards to Trump and now a lot of folks in regards to Biden.

Regardless of what the phrase means (and I disagree), he’s a complete fool for being fully vaccinated and outside and still wearing a mask. It’s against the science and his own CDC’s guidance. This is similar to being the only world leader out of like 40 to wear one on a Zoom call.

workplace. It's called leadership. We have mask mandate and I follow it like I expect everyone else too...even though I'm vaccinated.

If Trump had shown the slightest bit of leadership on mask wearing from the beginning it wouldn't have become this mind-numbingly stupid political issue. Not to mention the initial spike probably would have been toned down even more. No...right...it's better to have the POTUS making fun of people wearing masks.

Trump is the one that said the CDC would be issuing mask guidance and they did. You can look it up. He literally announced it like two days before. He also said that people should wear masks if they want to and can’t distance or aren’t outdoors.

You aren’t demonstrating leadership. You are virtue signaling (no surprise since you voted against Trump for same reason) but also following the guidance still, maybe not the science. CDC still recommends masks indoors with people who haven’t been vaccinated, even though the science shows only 5,800 breakthrough positives out of 60 million vaccinations and no signs that vaccinated people can transmit the virus.

others to follow?

Whatever you say...lol. I can't know who here is vaccinated and I have no way to go around telling 240 people that I'm vaccinated. So I wear a mask because I would never want to be seen as being "above the law". That is leadership...at least as I define. And that definition has served me well.

And if you are making the case that Trump led on mask wearing, then you're about type stuff more wrong than you have in the past...which is a high bar.

You seem to really have a hard time identifying with people with actual conviction. That might be something you ought to explore. I didn't vote for Trump in either election nor in 1st primary. I didn't like him from the jump. I could and can still articulate why I didn't like him and didn't vote for him and have done so many many times on here. If that's "virtue signaling" to you, then you don't know what that term means. It's fine if you don't agree with me, but you're a fool if you think I don't believe what I say/type in here (or anywhere for that matter).

I found the thing about Trump and masks for you. Maybe you can just admit you’re easily swayed by emotion and false narratives, just like libs.

Trump said to have common sense about that stuff. Same thing McMaster is saying now. As I said, you’re merely following the CDC guidance still if you’re wearing a mask indoors. Nothing special. Otherwise it’s pretty foolish to wear a mask when less than 1 in 100 people are currently infected, you’d have to stay within 6 ft of that person for 15 mins or more, you’d then have a 4% or less chance of being hospitalized, and a less than 1% chance of dying...and vaccination all but eliminates most of that. Last I saw, out of the over 1 million vaccinated in SC, there have only been 155 breakthrough positives. No serious illness or deaths.

Here’s the Trump stuff for you. You’re welcome. Note the dates. The guidance came out right after that.

As you know, Fauci was among the people saying initially that masks weren’t needed.

- You're not in the same conversation with me on Trump. You're posting an article as some proof of Trump providing personal leadership on mask wearing. Can you show me a lot of pictures with him wearing a mask and leading on social distancing? Give me a break. I know what I saw and I know what I heard come out of his mouth during his silly rants. I guess I could post some articles on the Rose Garden ceremony he hosted when he announced Amy Coney Barrett as his nominee and then all of the covid spread which was traced back to that. You'd have to look hard in those pics to find too many people spread out or wearing masks.

Didn't Trump also come out and say he wasn't going to wear masks? That is until he got covid and was hospitalized.

- Yeah, I'm still following and enforcing the Ga Dept of Health guidance for manufacturing plants, which is mostly aligned with the CDC guidance. I'm doing that for a few reasons, including our lawyer advised us to, we had people testing positive in the plant when the spread rate was like it currently is last summer and a positive test with exposure can wipe out complete departments because we have areas where we can't maintain 6ft separation, and it's the smart thing to do. I did relax the mask requirements this week in some of our hotter areas of the plant where workers are spread out more. But they have to put a mask on when they leave their work stations or when someone comes in their area.

- What I will admit is that I try to stay "non-personal" with you, but it's tough I have to admit. You suggest I'm easily swayed by emotion and false narratives "just like libs". And If I had to be honest, I don't think you have a clue about most things you chime in on. So here we are.

I can only go by his actual words in the two articles I just posted..,one by CNN. He said to have common sense. Masks were offered at every event. He didn’t wear one when speaking or in public but he was also mostly isolated and continuously tested...as were all of the people around him. Yes he did get it after 7 months of public events...and he was home in 3 or 4 days...an overweight 74 year old.

If masks are mostly to “keep you from spreading COVID to others,” what sense does it make for a vaccinated person who can’t transit the virus to wear one? I mean it’s one or the other. Either what they’re saying about the vaccine isn’t true or masks aren’t needed by vaccinated people.

It’s funny you say you “try not to get personal” yet you’ve insulted me in every post of yours in this thread lol. You do that to other actual conservatives on here and claim we all don’t know what we’re taking about. You also try to act like an expert in areas you really know little about, like taxes and the economy. Which part of electrical engineering taught you about those?

Anyway I’m gonna stop...before “I get in trouble.”

Again, back to my engineering degree...what's with you...seriously? But for sheets and giggles...my engineering classes didn't teach me too much about taxes or economics, but in school, my 5 economics classes, 3 management classes, and my corporate tax class (taken after Clemson) did. Also, I would like to think the many books I've read/studied, years of being in charge of sales and marketing for my company, starting a company with 2 people and growing it to 240 people in 8 yrs, having P&L responsibility, and on and on have taught me a good bit on those subjects. But seriously, what's your deal with an engineering degree and you somehow thinking I don't know what I'm talking about regarding "taxes and the economy". Why you point out some areas where I'm wrong. Heck, don't we agree on most areas of taxes and economics? What specifically do you disagree with me on?

You argued about the Biden 401k proposed changes for pages. You’ve also argued that his tax changes will only impact wealthier people. Yet I have a graduate finance degree, several professional designations and have been in that industry for over 26 years. I’m glad you’ve read some stuff though.

Just wait until I start lecturing you about transformers lol.

Also, last week, he posted stuff so racist that an entire thread had to be deleted.
