Jun 28, 2014, 4:43 PM

Actually I was thinking of Master Po in Kung Fu

Jun 28, 2014, 5:06 PM

Master Po: Close your eyes. What do you hear?
Young Caine: I hear the water, I hear the birds.
Po: Do you hear your own heartbeat?
Caine: No.
Po: Do you hear the grasshopper which is at your feet?
Caine: Old man, how is it that you hear these things?
Po: Young man, how is it that you do not?

But as Mr. Miyagi would have said: We make sacred pact. I promise teach you, you promise learn. I say. You do. No questions.

You see, most of us older Tigers do have lives off TNet...and we enjoy being on and off the site. lol

I'm over 60, and I enjoy the site. Have often wondered what the average MENTAL age on here is!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Better question. What is the avg. maturity age?

Jun 28, 2014, 5:03 PM

Because there are some serious discrepancies with people who post on line - in general.

I was actually thinking if mental age in the manner of maturity. After some threads I've read, I gotta wonder!

from Raiders of the Lost Ark which came out when I was a
soph at Clemson in 1981 and Clemson fans know what else
was pretty good about that year. And since I don't have
the endless energy I had back then, I love to check out
TigerNet often for the endless info, stories, humor, love,
hate, bs, etc. It's good stuff and just as good or better
than most of what's on TV.

BTW, about how old might you be, Mr. clemseth?

This was an hilarious post!! It's taken me about 10 minutes to stop laughing long enough to reply, but I think i can now offer one.

The demonstrative rebuttal is, NO, there is entirely too little wisdom in Tnet postings for the average age to be 65.

I thank you, though, for the laugh of the week. KEEP POSTING!

The average 65 year old is much more agile than the
65 year old (our fathers)of the 1970's.65 is the new
45.We are the 60's generation, the wildest of the wild.
Most of us can still match wits with younger folks.
The generation gap isn't that far off from our children,
unlike the gap between us an our parents.

I am mostly surprised at these older tigers

Jun 28, 2014, 10:37 PM

For 1. Knowing how to use the internet.
2. Spending so much time in discussion boards.
3. And some, not all engaging in very childish conversations.

I'm glad y'all are internet savvy, but my dad is mid 50's and would never be on Tnet and would certainly never say some of the crap that has been said. There is nothing wrong with avidly supporting/ contributing to internet fan discussion groups -regardless of age. But getting told to grow up by some of these older Tneters feels like the ultimate hypocracy.

Jerry Lewis was asked how he stays young in his
mind. His reply was, that he is a 10 year old in
an 80 year old body.So don't ever lose that edge,
stay young minded, keep up with current affairs and
you will be happier.
