Y'all think we can get baseball on par with basketball

as a Top 25-30 program?

I know the ACC is a basketball conference but we should try to be good in baseball as well.

Let’s get Basketball as a top 25-30 program too. Know we made it this year, but we are not that yet either, despite what the Judge says...

current beisaball results. If anything, our young hitters are trying TOO hard, swinging at bad pitches. This will be a team that gets better as they gain experience. Just how much better also depends on the performance of some very young pitching arms.

People seem to want to harp on the fact that this is Monte's 6th year. Take a look at the actual roster, this is either the FIRST or SECOND year for most of these players. I prefer to believe that better times are ahead.

In the meantime, anyone who wants to jump ship now, be sure to take your inflatable floaties with you, ya babies. :)

I can agree with all the posts. We have some great talent. They lay it on the line. Not sure if I've seen a harder worker than Teo. He gives himself up to catch a ball no matter what.

Ty is going to be a beast on the bump. If anything, he throws too many strikes. He also needs to develop more of an offspeed... Which I think he will.

All that being said, the talent is there but they feel the heat too. They know the situation. Imho, they're trying too hard. Trying NOT to make a mistake, trying too hard to swing at the perfect pitch...

What's the problem? Honestly, I think Monte and staff over analytics and over manages it. See calls all the pitches and I can't stand that. Obviously that's what he gets paid to do but I really would like to see them back off.

Also, realize we're missing some good talent that's hurt. Speaking of which, where's Gallo. He was doing good and hasn't made but 2 pinch hits since scar games... Why?

Come on Monte, put your 8 in there and stick with it. Quit all this mix and match crap and let those 8 play and gel and let them figure it out. We have talent. I know a few of the moms.

Are you including last season when the team started 14-3 or are you forgetting how good the team looked when the '20 season was shut down?

Better pitching was the diference last year...

Hitting was still suspect, especially situational hitting.

Bingo, Teo perfect example this weekend. When he tried to bunt, that 2nd pitch was belt high, center cut on the dish and he couldn't get wood on it... Y? I know the kid can bunt. They hit situational practice. Million dollar question is why they can't seem to take it from the practice field to the game? Unfortunately, and sadly, the buck has to stop at the top.

Surely we can find some $$'s to hire a hitting coach or is Monte ego too big. Not saying, but asking.

As I stated above, we have talent but we're not getting that 1 or 2 sluggers each year that pushes our recruiting class from the 20's to the 10's.
