but not at the expense of national security. They can still work while congress and Smokin Joe lean on the billionaires to take care of their phukkin employees. I’m betting this thing gets solved with Ds and Rs working in concert.

Take a quick peak at the average salaries of railroad workers and tell me who would get screwed if the rail workers were to go on strike?

The answer is everyone else and in a big way if the strike lasted long at all.

There will be time to address the rail workers complaints, but a rail strike would be disastrous.

It's good to see sanity prevail across the aisle.

They are literally asking for 7 sick days a year

compared to their 0.

It will cost the rail companies 2% of of their profits. Not revenue. Profits.

If they are that important then a strike is absolutely needed.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Biden is definitely not pro labor on this. He strutted just before the midterms over the tentative deal that was reached. 8/12 unions approved that tentative deal. Now we are at a point where a management/labor deal can be held hostage and potentially scuttled by appealing to Congress to address the issue.

Again, for the sake of the entire country I hope a strike is averted.

Pubs in the Senate could damage Biden by not going along with the House bill, but for the sake of the country, too much is at stake for this strike to take place. Biden himself recognizes this and wants a clean bill without the paid sick leave in it.
