The point is , if you didn't get the analogy ...is that making poor decisions is case by case .
Tillman made his stand , he took an elitist , hateful and savage line and stuck with it throughout his life .
His building on Clemson's campus was named during the 1940's largely in part because the school wanted the money from his family , and keeping his name on an aging structure now would only create more serious problems down the highway .
Why not remove the name , returning it to the Old Main building as it was before , and let history be written that Clemson University is a compassionate and forward moving school .
Let the Coots do the dumb stuff in this state .

Your original thought was to state that Africans selling Africans to the American slave traders makes it the Africans fault .
You blamed The American version of human slave trade on those indigenous peoples that rounded up others and sold them ? Is that it ?
That premise works and all ...until you understand that the indigenous people were threatened with their own shackles , told that their families and their villages would be ised instead , without compliance .
Just saying , open a book once in a while before making arrogant broad brush statements that poignantly make you look foolish .

Nasty indeed . Estimates of between 10 and 20 million Africans , chiefly from west central coastal regions were brought into South Carolina , stacked like cord wood and the rate of " cargo loss " was set at an acceptable rate of 14-20% . After brief quarantines on Sullivan's Island they were sold to slave owners along the colonial coastline . Children in slavery in South Carolina in particular , died at a rate of 1 for every 3 born into captivity . Adults rarely lived past 50 .

It is just so the plain hideous fact is displayed .
I'm not a liberal , nor am I a conservative . What I understand through my experiences is that outside of all of the daily monotony of our jobs , our responsibilities to others and the trusgery of this life ...there is only to love and be loved .
I don't spend a lot of time acting tough and downing others for their beliefs and ideals . That , to me seems like a waste ..
as the years pass by .
