Ben Boulware... has he played? Does he have a chance?

I went looking on Internet to see what Panthers writers were saying about Ben Boulware.

From their take, he is not making the roster. Has he played?

Has anyone seen or hear3d if he can make practice squad?

Would like to see BB become a success story.

Last I saw he was playing on the punt team late in the 4th

too small for linebacker in the NFL. He got pushed around easily the times I've seen him on D.

There's a lot of 6-1 235lb LBs in the NFL

Look at the rosters for several teams. He's not the smallest LB for the Panthers. Maybe the lower side of average but it all depends on the defensive scheme. If you're smaller then you better be faster. He was in a LB when they played the Texans, just late in the 4th qtr.

I have a good friend who does NFL draft analysis. I asked him about BB and the combine/ draft. He correctly predicted that he wouldn't be drafted. When I asked why not the response was simple. He said he had difficulty in pass coverage. He is too slow to defend RBs coming out of the backfield and too small to defend tight ends. If you go back to our games BB was fantastic against the rush and seemed to be in on every tackle, but when he had to defend players 10 yearns down the field he would often get beat.

Unlike most of tigernet board I saw Boulware as probably our biggest liability on defense at times. He played hard but it's did not have the speed in certain situations

According to Panthers247 site, he and Zeek Biggers are going to get their chance in this coming week's game against the Steelers and a chance to get some reps as neither of them have played much yet this preseason. This appears to be his big opportunity to shine.
