cousin by marriage runs the little ABC store behind the gas station that's about 100 yards from my house.
Got them to order me some Evan Williams White Label.
$23 for a handle.
Gonna be a good trip to cirrhosis jounge.

An underrated bourbon, imo. The flavor is what one would

expect from a bonded 100 proof. Has an alcohol bite at the end, but one can develop a taste for that, and is a small trade off for this price. And the price you got is a steal.

Heck, for a bottom shelf bourbon the Evan green label is

surprisingly good. We take turns supplying a bottle at the studio where our band practices and I once stopped at tiny little ABC store that had very little in stock when it was my turn a while back. I skipped over the Jack and Jim because none of particularly love either, and we all ended up somewhat impressed with that dirt cheap bottle. I mean, it's for shots so it doesn't have to be anything fancy to begin with but I'd buy Evan green again as a mixing bourbon if there was no Rebel Yell.

Not surprised to hear. Maybe the Green is an 80 proof White.

Sorry. My mistake. Can't be that because the White is bonded. But still not surprised to hear its a good value.

I could get a handle of the 1783 for 23 a few years back, but prices are creeping up and have been for a while.

Start with a .750 of the 1783, or similar. If you happen to

know of a peach tree that has been trimmed, cut out a piece near the center, make a dowel about 6 inches long, about a dime sized circumference (wood should be aged a year). Drop it into the bottle. Cherry wood works well too. If a handle, use two of those. Those proportions of wood to liquid are important. Wait 90 days. Will be a very top shelf bottle: I've won several blind tests against some high priced stuff: we were drinking as we did it, but still. Or tmale me, I'll send you one.
No fruit flavor is in the wood.

This does work. But I was thinking we'd get some funny responses.

Being connected is when you

get a super deal on a car cause you know the sales guy or the dealer. Being connected is scoring some Suite tickets to the Clemson vs. USC game cause you work with a guy that is baller. Being connected to getting your patio done for half the cost cause your bud is a landscaper.
Getting a $20 bottle of liquor is not connected.
Hope this helps you out in life.
