I could see the onside kick just for practice being a penalty gave them like 15 yards closer so either way SC State wouldn’t have great field position. But the two point was a head scratcher, that’s supposed to be a go to play when the games on the line. Why show your hand in a game you should easily win?

I was surprised too. Only thing i could figure was they were just practicing their version of Beamer ball.

THAT IS A REACTION PLAY! You come out in that formation and depending on what the defense does you shift and kick or run the ball. The kicking team doesn't make the decision it's all about the defense.
