My GF asked a pretty neat question about scoring this morn!

Mar 29, 2013, 10:16 PM

She asked why a game doesn't have a set point score (say 50 points are chosen as the mark to reach for the winner).

So, she's saying..when the first team reaches that agreed upon score..then that team automatically wins the game.

What say you...for I'm at a loss for words or an answer.

HELP!

GoTiGERs!

tell her that they tried it a few years back, but the clock operators union filed a lawsuit.

I got to say that I am torn on the union thing..

Most aren't worth a crap but it's needed here in Colombia, South America. Workers are severely abused. For example, these American call centers come down here and get permission to make this guys train for 5 weeks 6 days a week 8 hours a day for no pay before they start their minimum payment job. Most of that training time they are simply working. Ironically they tell these guys - "it's the American way". Every time they try to form a Union here the leader gets killed by the powers that be.

Sorry that this is wayyyy off the original OP's remark. But thought it a good time to give this opinion.

On this side of the continent, unions are out of control. I'm all for workers' rights and am against the "Right to Work" policies, but the unions in Brasil are absurd.

Before changing jobs I was working for a very large bank called Itaú, and there were times where the banking union (banking union = oxymoron, by the way haha) would shut down our offices by blocking the exits, forcing us to work at a contingency site. There was really no reason for it. They were simply doing it because negotiations were approaching and they wanted to fire a shot across the bow of the banks. They are powerful to the point where they can strangle the market if they so desire.

Overall I agree with the principal of unions, but they're almost never run the way they should be.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.
