#ACCFTS

from what I understand this was made for disabled people

Oct 4, 2017, 1:50 PM [ in reply to Re: For those unfamiliar with a Bump Stock ]

for folks without usable "trigger fingers" to be able to operate rifles more efficiently.

Somebody figured out it was a perfect cheat code for non-disabled to use.

It's what happens sometimes when you outthink making life "fair" for the disadvantaged.

Easy.

It does not violate a law to sell or possess one, thus making it legal.

Because it doesn't modify the trigger

Oct 4, 2017, 4:38 PM [ in reply to Re: For those unfamiliar with a Bump Stock ]

because you are modifying the stock you technically are not modifying the "gun". I don't know all the specifics of how they ever got this ok'd but it seems to be a loophole because you are not modifying the trigger and the trigger mechanism. When you buy a gun the part that you are actually registered to is the trigger assembly, the rest of the gun (barrel, stock, bolt, etc) are just accessories. This is why you can buy all the parts to build an AR-15 without any problem but when you buy the trigger or lower assembly you have to go through the background check and registration. This is how I understand how it all works but am by no means any type of expert so I may be off a little on some of the details.

I love my guns and am a very avid hunter and shooter but I have never understood the reason for wanting or owning one of these stocks other than just to say you have one and brag about how cool it is to shoot your gun really fast and waste ammo. I think they should probably go ahead an ban these because there is no logical or practical use what so ever.
