Beaux Collins TD catch and DJ’s Improvement

Just rewatched the game and was amazed with how open Beaux was on his TD catch… Good look off by DJ (so much better than last years stare downs) and a good job by Beaux of finding the soft spot in the zone

Still tons for Dabo to coach ‘em on but this is evidence (IMO) that stuffs gonna really start clicking over the next few weeks

TU! +1 I see the improvement, too, and I see guys stepping up and winning battles, too. I had hoped we'd get personnel worked out and this team would click. I think we are clicking, and I think we continue to find the right combinations. Great to be peaking at the right time, IMO.

The major difference was last year DJ was running for his life because of no blocking and staring down 2nd and 3rd team receivers. This year, so far, our offense has been healthy and there is a big difference.

That was a good play. One of our better ones this year.

But I thought overall rewatching the game that the offense regressed in the BC game. Had to punt 7 times. Got to red zone several series and couldn't impose our will on a bad BC defense. In a game where we had tons of offensive possessions we were stuck in first gear most of the night. It's not like BC intentionally shortened the game. We only had 2 penalties for 10 yards so it wasn't like we made mistakes and got behind the chains. Fla St had their way with them and gashed them for 530 yards and 44 points that could have been more. We had 360. Even Maine had more yards than we did.

Hence imo is why the FSU line is going down like it is... Even with the defensive injuries they have.

True, we're improving as is DJ. But improved from a very low bar.

The offense had zero rhythm and looked completely out of sync in the first half. I think we scored with less than a minute left in the 2nd to make it 10-3 at the half. Hopefully the team (players and coaches) were looking ahead to FSU. FSU is much better than BC and their stadium will be rocking. We’ll need to come out ready to play from the start on offense.
