Interesting to note about this Recruiting Class

Jan 21, 2015, 1:32 PM

Most teams seem to take a recruiting hit when a coordinator leaves (think Rich Rod), and many teams have dumpster fires burning out of control at even the subtle mention of coaching changes (think the UnReal usc), but I am extremely impressed with this staff being able to put together what everyone would agree is one of the greatest recruiting hauls ever at CU while saying goodbye to a coordinator who genuinely helped change the program. Well done Fighting Dabo's!

That is a great point. It is almost like we didn't lose a coordinator at all it has been so smooth a transition. Just speaks to our entire coaching staff and even the administration to get out of the way and let Dabo run things like he wants instead of showing your clout and running a 3 month coaching search for something we didn't seem to need.

Beating Oklahoma didn't hurt, either.

It showed our current staff was very capable without Morris.

Our staff is capable now from Morris' tutilage - it's called

proper preparation. The staff and players knew the day would come including Dabo and that is why they organized the plans to grow within the organization with the scheme. They prepared JS & TE for the role over the years. Being honest with the recruits probably helped too, although we don't know what if anything is/was said about coaches to recruits.

You have just stated the obvious. That is why

I didn't mention Morris' preparation for these coaches.

and just as much, it shows a commitment to developing

young coaches as much as developing players. Its a dedication to the teaching, the joy and pursuit of learning, and the satisfaction of excellent results that gets conveyed to HS recruits & families as "The Clemson Family." Coach Swinney truly is doing things the right way.

The love of the university and "Those Hills" soon follows.

All about setting expectations. Our recruits are sold on

Clemson...not coaches. In my business, and in many others, managing expectations is more important than producing results...easier said than done. Dabo obviously knows this and has the recruits already thinking to themselves that "I'm committed to CLEMSON, not to a coach."
