Any Tnetters have and rent a beach house in Cherry Grove or Ocean Lakes and would be willing to rent to a couple fellow Tnetters? My wife and I are getting a late start on vacation planning and are having a tough time finding a place.

My family's been using http://www.vrbo.com/ the last few years and planing our vacations with pretty short notice. The listings vary as it's sort of like a craig's list of vacation rentals, but might be worth a peek.

Do you mean for that entire period or for a week inside that date range? Reason I'm asking is my mom has a place in Ocean Lakes. I'd have to check with her to see what she had available.

a week in that range:
June 23 - June 30
June 30 - July 7
July 7 - July 14
July 14 - July 21
July 21 - July 28
We prefer June 23 - June 30 or of course July 4th week which is very hard to get. But any of those would do. I work for a college so after July 28th is hard for me.

Yep. They're nothing exceptionally fancy, but she obsessively cleans them herself so they are always tidy & clean. She's looking at her books now.

hey there.. I don't own any property, but if you are looking at cherry grove.. may i suggest that u drive about 20 miles north thru Little River SC to the first beach in NC.. SUNSET BEACH.. Absolutely beautiful place. very much a family beach and mostly all cottages.. no big hotels or condos and the beach there is very wide and just beautiful.. we have been going there for 15 years now...beach houses are reasonable....There are 2 main realtors companies there.. Sunset Vacations and Sunset Properties...both have nice web sites and the town of Calabash is next door that has great seafood restuarants....hope u find something....

Thanks for the suggestion. Never heard of it but I'll certainly look into it. Sure do love eating in Calabash. That's a plus.

Basically along the coast here Memorial Day to Labor Day is prime rate, then prices go down.

Good one. Got nothing against his exuberance, but I haven't seen him post on a topic he didn't create himself. But I haven't been on for a while until recently. All this will we or won't we go to the Big XII got my interest up. Guess I have too much time on my hands. Still, that would be a good option if looking for a vacation site in Big XII country.
