Gas prices are high!

May 24, 2022, 7:37 AM

This gave me a chuckle this morning, and I really hope a Coot uses this pump after me!

They are going to go up A LOT before they come back down. We are only buying diesel in bulk for our company, but our price has gone up $1.50 per gallon since last month.

I believe diesel will be $7 per gallon at the stations before it calms down. Gas will hit the $6 mark this summer.

Gas will hit $6 and food prices will skyrocket in the next 6 months.

Just to tie this in to Clemson football, i definitely believe the stagflation or whatever it’s called now will affect attendance in Clemson this year. I’m sure it has to be expensive to travel from the lowcountry up to Clemson 7x in the fall. Add on the fact that literally everything you touch or use will be shooting up dramatically compared to the last 5 or 6 years, I’d be shocked if a lot of folks don’t cut down those 7 trips to just 3 or 4.

Unfortunately , judging by the comments the supposed “most powerful man in the World “ made yesterday, i don’t see anything getting better anytime soon.

Agreed. We used to get hotels for every home game and stay in Clemson Fri - Sun. Now with the little one, I only make it to about 2 games a year and it’s a 3 hour drive one way. Part of the lack of attendance is on me, as I have too many other things going on and we have a great crew down in the low country where we get together every Clemson game and cook/party.

We in the southeast will get our chance at $10/gallon gas the first time there’s a hurricane in the gulf. The Weather Channel will be complicit as usual.

Re: Gas prices are high!

Jun 7, 2022, 6:23 PM

And the mindless masses all blame it on Joe Biden. Biden wouldn’t know how to raise prices if he wanted to. Do you want to know why gas prices are so high? Go check out Exxon Mobil’s profits in the last quarter. They are returning huge dividends to their shareholders, and not investing in new oil wells. They would rather artificially constrict the market and make tons of profit, while uninformed people blame politicians. Exxon Mobil‘s not the only culprit, Oil companies are cashing in on the fact Russian oil has been restricted. It’s a global commodities market, reduction of Russian oil on the market has raised prices around the globe, and the gas companies are happy to cash in on increased gross profit. However I don’t know why I waste my breath, I guarantee you somebody will call me a liberal loony, while I’m the furthest thing from it. It just pays to know what you’re talking about

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ok, I'll play...

Jun 7, 2022, 6:52 PM

Add up the executive orders from Biden's first week (or even his first 100 days) that were intended to INCREASE oil production.

Add up the number of EOs that were intended to hinder oil and gas production.

Which number is bigger?
