We have already had 3 water rescue calls for sinking vehicles in the Upstate. Please use caution my friends. There are some areas in real bad shape especially in Pickens and Greenville Counties.

The ground is getting really soft. I had a leak I had to fix yesterday, and when I walked out to the meter to shut water off, my foot sunk about 8-10 inches down by where I have drove my Zero turn many times without any sinking problems in the past!!!

We have a hill next to our driveway that is covered with mulch. There is a ditch on the other (top) side of the hill to divert rainwater. The very worst storms overwhelm the ditch and sometimes wash the mulch down the hill into my driveway. That was the case this morning. Only happens a couple of times a year when we get a lot of rain in a very short period of time. I extended the ditch in 2020 and that has definitely helped move the water away faster but now that I have time I think I will be putting up a retaining wall this spring. It is about 120 feet long so will be pretty costly but I am really tired of shoveling dirt and mulch out of the driveway when we have a big storm.
