BCS bowls are a joke; put the best teams on the field, regar

dless of conference affiliation or the number of fan tweets and posts. No way, Northern Illinois or Central Florida deserves a BCS bid over teams like our Tigers. Does our Orange bowl bid really depend on Facebook and Twitter posts.

I agree. As a Gamecock fan, i can say there are several team who will, or may, receive BCS bids that aren't as "deserving", Clemson included. The "2-Team per Conference" limit has lead to several questionable BCS teams in recent years. But, that's the system...

The 2-team per conference protects against conferences gaining an advantage due to money/preseason rankings. How can a conference who starts with 6 teams in the top 15 not end up with at least 4 teams eligible?

I'm not complaining about the intent of the rule, and you are at least partially correct in saying the preseason rankings have a powerful effect. But plenty of teams start the season ranked at one end of the spectrum and finish somewhere else. UGA, for instance.

Yep, it's all media bias that has South Carolina ranked five spots ahead of Clemson. Good to see the system working properly, putting Clemson in the BCS instead.

The 2-team-per-conference rule may "protect" against certain things, but it also levies illogical penalties.
Let's say this rule was changed from "2 per conference" to "1 team per conference in the BCS Title Game". So, if Clemson finished this season 11-1, losing only to FSU by 2 points on a last minute FG, how do you feel about the rule "protecting against conferences gaining an advantage due to money"?

1 team per conference? What? We want to make it unlimited,

not limit it even further. We are saying put the best 14 teams out there, no matter what conference they are from. Your hypothetical 1 team per conference scenario makes no sense because that rule would make no sense and would never be passed.

I agree completely. Who gives a flip what conference or what bowl you partner with. The top teams play in the top bowls and all down the line. Enough with the other stuff.

5 BCS Bowls = 10 teams. Simply let the top ten BCS ranked teams go. End of argument.

Then Clemson would not make a BCS bowl since there is little chance that the tigers finish in the Top 10 at season's end.
And there would be 4 teams from the SEC>

the best against the best. The only BCS bowl that does that is the NCG. The rest ARE all about conference affiliation. It's about selling tickets and making money for the bowl and for the schools.
The bigger joke is the top 25 that starts out week 1 with last year's rankings. It's impossible to shake some teams out with in-conference + a couple of FCS games dominating the schedules.

It should be one per conference

If your not a champion you don't deserve it. It should be champions only get in the playoffs. Also you mention uga moving but like Florida their ranking boosted teams like mizzou up in the rankings. It was a given at least 4 sec teams would finish top 14 when pre season rankings were released.
