It's more simple than that. Effort gets you far, talent gets you further, effort and talent even further, and add in great coaching and it gets you further still. The game changes but at the heart of it all is the common sense. It's about jimmies and joes X's and O's and effort.all of it matters. It's not the hunh or the FBI five or the midline, veer, air raid or triple option. Any system can be successful with those three LAWS of football.

Having all your starting linemen as 5th year graduate students helps as well. At least I thought I heard Brent state that near the end of the game.

Brad Nessler...not Brent

Brent is the SECN Lead guy now with Palmer.

Force of habit. I stand corrected

Check the last 3 years W-L records of Clemson and BC.

The HUNH spread is exciting to watch, but Lord how I miss the days of Danny's Power-I imposing their will in the 4th quarter.

Not always. It didn't help BC to beat Pitt

And Oregon certainly does well with a balanced run/pass offense.

It is all about the OL and DL. It takes great linemen to block for the run and pass. The same for the DL. Great DL that stop the run and rush the qb.

Offensive schemes do not matter. Balance and the ability to run and pass at will.

Since 2009 BC's best season was 8-5. Many of the rest were losing seasons. Would you trade that for Clemson's record since then? Of course you always want a dominant OL, but it takes more than that.
