What is the next school that should leave the ACC?

Jan 28, 2014, 8:51 PM

Be honest taking into account all factors including strength of athletic teams & academic standards but mostly just football.

I say N.C. State. I am simply tired of looking at them & would instead enjoy entertaining the likes of a Vanderbilt or Georgetown.

What is the next school that should leave the ACC?    [Results]

Clemson (to the SEC or Big 15)
N.C. State to the AAC or B1G
Virginia Tech to the Mid-Atlantic or WAC
Wake Forest to Ivy
Boston College to the NCAA Hockey League
Duke to Ivy
No teams should leave but we should add back SCU
No teams should leave but we should add Alabama
No teams should leave but we should add Notre Dame full-time
No teams should leave but we should add Princeton

NCST or Wake Forrest are good candidates

Jan 28, 2014, 8:54 PM

Their footprint overlaps with UNC and Duke for the most part anyway.

At least Nc St gives a shat about

Jan 28, 2014, 8:55 PM

Football. How about getting rid of Wake. Their hoops program ain't what it used to be and their football and baseball suck. Vandy would be an upgrade in athletics and academics.

Vandy would do absolutely nothing in strength of schedule. We are talking athletic wise right. Either bring in a strong FB school, or leave it the H&ll alone. I say make ND join in all sports, or send them packing and get someone else with a pulse in FB. As it is with ND now. They are keeping all of their highest money sport for them selves alone. And sponging from the acc in the rest of their camp fire sports. They should have been told at the beginning, all in or all out from the first year. The acc should have went after Penn St. with everything they had to throw at them. Don't blame the entire school b/c a few made a major F up. They would have been a perfect fit in the acc with Academics and sports.

I wouldn't advocate bringing Vandy

Jan 29, 2014, 7:54 AM

I'm just stating they would bring to the table more than Wake Forest. Getting Notre Dame in all sports would be the only northern school I would want the ACC to get.

BC, Pitt or Syracuse.***

BC is my favorite ACC road trip. Have done it three times,

Jan 29, 2014, 12:28 AM

had a great time on each trip. Charlottesville and Chapel Hill are fun trips as well. Pittsburgh is supposed to be radically transformed since the last time I was there - sort of like downtown Greenville has been over the past 15 years. I was a little underwhelmed by my trip to Syracuse this year. Not as bad as Winston-Salem or Columbia but not a great trip....

BC is an awesome road trip actually...***

DUH U

Jan 28, 2014, 9:26 PM

Not that I believe any team will be leaving any time soon, but I would like to see Thug U leave. Their fans are delusional at best. They are always mired in scandal. And their athletes are and have always been well....thugs. Please leave.

Re: What is the next school that should leave the ACC?

Jan 29, 2014, 7:43 AM

Realignment will die soon because the major conferences will break away from the NC2A and former their own league.

Re: What is the next school that should leave the ACC?

Jan 29, 2014, 12:56 PM

That is coming, but its still a long way off. Not in the next ten years. It would take that long just to get their hold off of a conference. And I believe it would take more than one conference to be able to break away from the NC2A strong hold.
