Atlanta People: I have a question

Nov 16, 2012, 2:21 PM

Staying at the Omni, where would you suggest to go out for a drink without walking through the ghetto and without getting in a cab?

Also, anywhere really good/cheap in that area?

as a side note

if you are coming relatively soon centennial park is getting the holiday makeover, (ice rink, lights, tree, etc...) that brings out more atlanta guides (the people dressed up with safari style hats, to help tourist out) couple that with the fact that it is getting cold outside (which means the homeless stay in shelters more) you really shouldnt have any crazy people approach you. enjoy your stay :)

couldn't tell you any great places to eat in walking distance of there.

But there is a pretty decent bar very close by called Stats (taps on the tables, and they'll change it to the beer of your choice) It can get pretty crowded sometimes, but in that area, there's not too many options in walking distance.

There are more options in this area than there used to be.

There is a Taco Mac in the CNN Center or at least attached to the outside. They have a good beer selection and decent prices.

I would suggest walking a little bit down Marietta St to "Der Biergarten" or "Stats". Biergarten is a german place with german beers. Stats is a guzzied up sports bar. There are a couple more dining places (Pizza, Sushi, etc.) in that same block.

What time should I pick you up?

We'll head down Ponce to the Clermont Lounge. Bring cash and hand sanitizer.
