at this point in the season

monte should probably just tell his guys to go out and have fun. get some young guys some reps against quality competition, and get ready to come back stronger next year. I know a lot of yall wont like this, and I do believe we make a regional, I just dont see us going any further unfortunately. Throughout this whole "slump" I expected us to come out of it, but when it seems like we get some momentum, we turn around and lose to gardner webb or PC.
but who knows! go out there and prove me wrong, I will gladly eat that crow.

a few early big wins and everyone here anoints them for Omaha. Then we go into a funk and everyone wants to jump off a bridge. I havent gotten to see them much due to my schedule. Its a long season and I suspect we just jumped the gun on how good they are.

That’s exactly what happened.

The youth finally caught up to us. And in no way do I want the veterans benched. I just want some of the younger guys to get some more MEANINGFUL reps. Just like how Dabo does with his young football players. I firmly believe these younger guys WILL get us to Omaha in their career.
Now if we can shock the work this year, even better!

Well the only way to get the young guys more meaningful reps is to either PH for the veterans or bench the veterans. How would you go about it? If we're losing maybe PH Henderson/Hackenberg/Parker for someone?

There’s only 3 veterans on the team. Byrd Logan and Jordan Greene, Greene hasn’t played that much. Most of our pitching has been youngsters... except from the pen.
Wilkie is a junior but he’d be crazy to leave. Worth him sticking around for his senior year and see if he can build on his hitting and his plate approach as catcher.

Young guys have played all year. What u wanna just bench the veterans and look toward next year? Jiminy crickets If the team can still make the postseason then that’s all that matters. The record isn’t good and we won’t host but if we win a regional this will be deemed the most successful season thus far under monte no matter the record. This isn’t a 2010 car care bowl vs USF where Tajh should’ve played the whole game other than the end. The team still has a lot to play for

I heard multiple people early in the season say that they hope we didn't host a regional because they wanted to see the pressure off the team come the post season.
I wonder if those people actually realized that to not host a regional you have to lose games.
This has been a terrible stretch for the team and being on the bubble is way worse than just missing a host spot, but if you aren't going to host then it doesn't really matter what seed you get.
IF this team can make a regional, I hope they go in with a "nothing to lose" attitude.
I also hope they can get healthy everywhere and rested in the bullpen so we are at least to full strength if we get the opportunity at the postseason.

I'd rather host than potentially NOT make the field. Until this team gets back to a Super or further, fans wont be happy. I know winning a regional would go a very long way ...for starters. Monte isn't going anywhere so get used to him. He will get more of his guys and his approach won't change. Where i'm puzzled is See, i figure he will move on at some point as he has done a great job across his time at Clemson and i see him getting a HC gig. All of the experience this season has been great for the young guys and next year will be better. I hope they can rally this season, get in and win a few.

It comes down to pitching IMO. We can only succeed if our pitching improves. Our hitting is fine as long as we're facing weak pitchers, but good pitchers dominate our guys at the plate. We're just too young I guess. Maybe we peak towards the end of the season, and figure out how to bunt when necessary, and not swing at some of those breaking balls. JK - I have no idea how to make this team better. It might be nothing more than a big slump.

Pitching is the problem

Idk what happened to it. They were real good earlier in the season, I guess the youth caught up to us. But we score about 8 runs a game and that should be enough to win, but our pitchers must not think so
