These assertions that he doesn’t want to be a head coach are silly. If he has ever said such please share the link. He has said he loves his job, loves his boss, loves Clemson and I believe him but, don’t infer his disinterest in a head coaching job from these statements. I hope he stays here forever but if OU is his dream job then Brent, heartfelt thanks for what you did here and Best of luck to you and your family! Go Tigers!

I believe CBV made a remark after last season (referring to calls of job offers) to the effect that he should start answering some of those calls. Does anyone else remember that? He has never said he wasn't interested, just that he was content in his job at Clemson.

gone. He's 50 years old, and he'll never get a better offer. This would be his time.

If he doesn't leave, we can conclude it's one of two things: Either he doesn't have a legit offer after all and/or he wasn't their top choice, or he does NOT want to be a head coach.

It's pretty clear at this point that he's earned the right to be picky about any opportunity. Jobs like Oklahoma don't open every day. His connections and background there make him an easy candidate, not to mention his success at Clemson putting together championship defenses.

I would love it if he stayed, but I understand that we're talking about a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

Most of us seem to be grappling with the fact of knowing it's a great move for him vs. wanting him to stay.
