I’d like to let everyone on Tigernet know that our Warhorses are ranked No. 3 through 7 games, and we have the Number 1 RB in the state. Tyler Smith, 6’2” 205-210 lbs has 1,500 yards and 25 TDs through 7 games!!!
He is a senior and I hope Dabo and staff have given him a look.

Not great considering he's a 23 kid. But recruiting had a lot of variables, grades, records, coaches endorsement, and a big one, can he afford to camp? Being able to go to a lot of these camps costs money to some degree and a lot of kids fly under the radar because of it.

That’s the case with a lot of our good players. Barnwell is a low-income county that doesn’t even have an interstate pass through it. We have had TONS of very talented players that never played college ball, wether it was from grades or just going unnoticed.

1500 yds through 7 games is really good. I’m a woodland alum, we have a big showdown coming up. When I was in school we had barnwells number. But y’all and silver bluff have dominated 2a in the lowcountry since.

Yeah that’s going to be a good game! I played against Woodland when they had a player that ended up going to Clemson, he was pretty much their whole offense that year and they didn’t do to well against us that game, but I love yalls stadium and the story behind it haha

What year was it? Early 2000’s it would have been Tye hill. I graduated in 2010 and our quarterback Robert smith went on to start safety for Clemson in 2013, 2014.

Correct me if my memory and "Back in the day" brain is wrong. Did yall have a back named Shelly Hammonds? Seems like that was him my senior year. If so. whatever happened to him?

Yes, he played for Penn State, and then got drafted by the Vikings. When he was a Freshman at Penn St I think he took his first 2 Carries for TDs as a RB but ended up playing DB as a starter.

Good stuff. I always thought he was one of the top dudes I ever played against. Didn't get nearly the recognition that Levon Kirkland did, but he was a great athlete. Honorable mention to Bernie Brogdon (East Clarendon) and Reggie Pleasant (Furman) as well.

Man, Barnwell was a power house when I played back in the mid 80’s. It was always a three horse race in our region between Barnwell, Silver Bluff and Bamberg. Sometimes Swansea would raise a little he!!. That was before they let everybody make the playoffs. Do they still give out the towels and everybody is in sink with the music during the game? One of my all time favorite high school football atmosphere’s.

Get his coach to send his film to Georgia Southern. Would love to watch him run the ball on a Eagle uniform if he’s not going to Clemson.
