The best quote in the article . . .

"The hardest job in this business is convincing kids who have been to the mountaintop that there's new, different gold up there—and it's worth the climb." (Spoken by an unnamed FSU Assistant Coach)
I don't feel any pain or regrets for their program either . . . I never will forgive them for trashing our campus after kicking our tails in 2013!!!

We were "Clemson before Clemson'
Nope.
"We were the team that caught Alabama"
Nope.
Jimbo took the short-cuts and they always bite in the end. He bailed. he might be a less-successful pete carrol.
Taggart has a huge hill to climb. I think he is just the sacrificial coach to get the program turned around but will forever lack the fan support.

I think Taggart gets it done. A few years from now those games with them will be some of the best in the nation once again.

What makes you think that? Just curious.
I think he added some new assistants, but not sure how long it will take for them to have an impact.
What am I missing?

I tend to over estimate the competition Or I should say I give our competition the benefit of the doubt more often than others. Makes game day and life in general easier to tolerate.
Do I think FSU will be Clemson level in a few years? No. But I think they will once again have a punchers chance when playing in Tallahassee against us. FSU is a total rebuild. So in a few years the Clemson v FSU game may not be some of the best in the country but I believe they will be worth 4Q watching (which is a start).
FSU got lazy across the board..the coaches, the players, the administration. I think Taggart is the right guy to put things back together. It's a gut feeling. Little empirical evidence to back it up.it up.
Then again, I'm a dumba$$ who thought UL would be at least serviceable last year. Once again, I gave too much credit.

Total Rebuild....

With their location, above ave. facilties, & brand(fav team of the front runner); they should never be in total rebuild mode. FSU had a BCR of 67% in 2018; worst case scenario, half of are misses, still some foundation there.(BCR drops near 50% in 2019)

Taggert gets it done??

I have a few friends that are FSU fans. NONE of them support Taggert and would have been fine if they canned him last season. I have not met a single person who thinks Taggert will get it done at FSU. Interesting that you do.

I have friends who are alumni, boosters, and just plain old fans.
And none of them think Taggart is the guy as well.
I'm not a fan of group think.
Like I said, this is a gut feeling.

He needs a topflight QB and they very well could climb back to be an elite team. Kendal Briles will add the sauce. The talent has always been there. The question is whether he can get that talent to all row in the same direction.
Should make us all grateful for Dabo. <— He is truly a generational coach and leader.

Wasn't Briles with his dad at Baylor? I think he might be Taggart's savior if that's the case. It seems like the younger Briles was a large part of Baylor's success.
Knowing FSU, it would not surprise me to find out that Art Briles is helping them in some way. Art is a proven winner (regarding football), and would definitely be an asset to a program. I'm still waiting until the coots fire Muschamp and hire Briles.
