So much contempt and malice towards fans asking reasonable questions. The response is indignant and an unnecessary escalation. Dabo, why does our passing game suck? “WELL, GUESS YOURE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO FIRE ME!”
Why can’t he just acknowledge our not-unreasonable concerns and say that he sees it too, it frustrates him too, and he’s going to work on it? I don’t understand why that is so hard for him to say.

Our opinions on firing his staff and benching players are not valid points. They are seriously unformed opinions.
Everyone can see that DJ is struggling. Steve Wonder can see that. We just don't know if changing QB is going to fix our issues at that position.
Before anyone starts the landblast, I would sit DJ on the bench and play Cade too. Dabo says that's the wrong thing to do. We are saying he's either incompetent or just plain lying.
I still agree with the fans but if I were head coach I would have made the exact same comments long before now.

Dabo the job if Saban were to call it quits. I'm sure there are two years in recent memory where the Alabama fanbase might have offered the job to Dabo if Saban had quit the morning after those nattys, but in all honesty, I've never seen him as a great fit for that program. As far as that goes, I'm not sure Dabo would have replicated his recipe for success at very many schools. I always kind of viewed him as a 'perfect storm' sort of scenario. The right guy in the right place at the right time kind of thing. I could be totally wrong, but I also don't think we'll ever find out.

It's that we're trending in the wrong direction.
All of us were excited that Tony took the UVA job. And the 2021 season's anemic offense left with him.
Instead, we hired two coordinators from inside the program and (AFAIK) didn't interview a single person from outside the program. He landed Chad Morris and Brent Venables previously. Why did we not go after a big name OC/DC?
DJ sucked last year. Basically wasted a Natty worthy defense scraping together a 9 win regular season. With any QB worth a ####, we're playoff worthy and definitely beat UGA in the opener.
DJ sucked this year. Improved? Yes. But went full head case against Syracuse and is back to 2021 form.
Cade might not be a much better QB, but he plays with intensity. And that changes the entire offense. Even ESPN commented on it. The offense plays like it's the 4 hour of practice and they are tired of going through the motions. Shipley has the fire, but no one else.
The 'my #### don't stink' attitude is what most people are fed up with. We have eyes and can see the product on the field. DJ and Streeter are terrible.
8 for 29 against a #### defense. Only 3 completions beyond the LOS. That's turrible.

you trust who has always done a great job over the past decade or so. He's had some mechanics come and go, but overall you've had a good experience. Then over the course of a few oil changes you notice your car is getting slower and slower, now it won't even hit 45mph.
So you take the car back to him, and he goes on a tirade about how he's been working on your stuff for 10 years and never left an oil cap off or lug nut loose, and you're not a mechanic anyway so who are you to question him? Now, he's not necessarily wrong, but you've been driving cars for a few decades and know that topping out at 45mph is not normal or good.
Would you consider that mechanics response to be reasonable? At the end of the day, you are the customer, and you're not asking unreasonable questions.....I mean, we haven't had a passing game in 2 years
Getting aggressive with your customers (or fans in this case) rarely works out well for anyone in the end.

imagine you owned a Lexus, and the guy who was working on it not only was good, but won several Lexus national awards as being the top mechanic in the country. Other mechanics imitate him, and even visit his shop to try to figure out how he does it. And besides that, his garage when he took it over, had one gas pump out front and didn't even have a squeegee to wash windows, even though at one time it was pretty busy.
Then what you said happens. He says he knows there is an issue, it will only go 45, but you think its just the engines compression, but he says it ain't what you think it is, it is more than just that. Other you tube mechanics tell you he is crazy, even though they've never really even worked in a garage.
Yeah I wouldn't be a ray of sunshine, but may also listen to him and trust him?
I admit, I musta missed the part about Dabo getting aggressive, presser?

he starts insinuating he'll take his ball and go home when I question whether my power folding mirrors and air conditioned seats are the reason my V8 is only running on 3 cylinders it would definitely raise some eyebrows. And frankly, I wouldn't appreciate it after all the thousands of dollars I've spent with him.
The "find a new coach" routine every time he is questioned is his passive aggressive way of scolding fans. I've seen a lot of companies take this approach, and it works OK as long as you have the superior product/price point. But as soon as you don't, it can backfire pretty fast. Let's just say this, it doesn't build any good will with anyone and is a poor way of conducting public relations.

That analogy works when you have great competitive options and your mechanic truly is tearing your car up.
Not so much if you stop going to the guy for small hiccups and demand a great new one move into town to take over after you stopped going to the other guy. And also assuming enough other people stopped going to put your dude out of business.
Well, without analogies, my point is: We have one of the top coaches in CFB who has taken us to the Promise Land while correcting mistakes along the way, and we're getting a little too concerned over a 10-2 season.
Yeah, I know, there are problems and I agree with em, but Dabo shouldn't be worried about what fans want until the money legitimately stops coming in because we are producing a mediocre product.

with the fans, and accountability for the coaching staff. I think franc nailed it above, this is the reaction of someone with no accountability. His reaction to well deserved criticism gets a bit tiresome, we know Dabo is and has been great for the program, city, and entire general area. We couldn't pay him enough for what he's done.
BUT, our offense is absolutely terrible, and it's been trending downward for several years now. Instead of getting bristly with the fans and anyone who brings it up, maybe address the question to some degree. It's dealing with people 101, all he's doing is opening himself up to more criticism. All he's got to do is say some variation of "Well we're making decisions based on what we see in practice, Cade is doing great but we felt we needed some continuity/experience/yada yada yada" Stop it with the "just find another coach if you don't like it" bulllshit.

We may have to consider he's earned some lack of accountability to some degree, and while it probably would be better to answer a little more diplomatically, until this thing completely regresses back to constant losses to inferior teams and that "Clemsoning" BS or what have you, he doesn't really owe it to us. Maybe just a "Don't worry; we've got this".
If people on the outside started questioning my professional success after a bit of an "off" year, I'd probably bristle too (but would have to be a little more diplomatic about it).
I don't like the "just find another coach" response, but it's also a deserved shot across our bow. Only a few in the fanbase really remember those Danny days, and Dabo far surpassed those. He's earned patience from a fanbase that tasted little success between him and Danny. I mean, we're not pulling punches with our criticism, are we? Why do we expect Dabo to sit back and be the nice guy when he gets questioned so harshly by people who couldn't do his job and who he gave them their best years?

I'm just as pissed about Saturday and frustrated with what's happened so far as all of you, but that doesn't change that these two "off" seasons were 10-3 and 10-2.
They hang giant banners of coaches at lesser schools for that ####. Coaches get hired away at lesser schools for doing that.
He brought us two natties, more ACC titles than any coach in our history, and his win percentage is only surpassed by John Freakin' Heisman. And he wants to stay here forever.
So no, I don't expect him to do what the fans want right now nor do I expect him to have much patience with callers who are demanding changes. Look, what has happened sucks but really, who the #### are we to expect him to listen to us?
When we start struggling to go over .500 every year again and money plummets, sure, let's talk. But this is a slight dip over two years after some real great ####. Let's all calm down.

after a loss. This past weekend is the first time I've visited the mange after a loss in many a year.
I quit when I got a bit out of sorts about the criticism of our program back during the good ole days, three years ago. RevDodd lectured me on the standard being allowing Tnetters to lash out until midnight Monday before I started blasting them for being too emotional.
This is the first time I've been this frustrated with our program since Danny Ford got fired. I imagine just about everyone is frustrated but calling for heads to roll is beyond reasonable.
