big bkball visitor this weekend from Portal...

Princeton PG Jaelin Llewellyn will visit Clemson tomorrow. Started all 3 years. Didn't play the COVID year because Ivy League didn't have a season. Averaged double figure all three years. Clemson recruited him out of HS and he was a 4 star recruit. Played very well against HM teams. I would consider this one of the top PGs they can get in the portal

How do you think he compares to Dawes, considering you bashed dawes all year? Do you think he would be an upgrade?

He is better playmaker but maybe not the volume shooter. He will probably be a better shot taker though. Dawes was just too wild on his shot selection. I'd say his 15.8 pts a game in the Ivy League would translate to about 7.5/8 pts a game. He can really pass the ball in his hands. A better playmaker than Dawes. It would be a very good pick up as long as Chase Hunter can average double figures next season. Might get another guard who can play the wing as well.

Yikes. if your prediction is correct, then that would be a downgrade.
He could average more than that because has better pieces around him. I'd say he could get up to Dawes point numbers, but again players from the portal who played in mid major generally average around half of that going to power leagues. Exceptions are the players in the top three mid major leagues AAC, A-10,MNW. example would be this past season when Collins averaged over double figures just like he did in the American Conference. Bohannon came from the smaller Horizon, and even when starting didn't come half to averaging the 16 he did at YSU.
He is considered one of the top 20 players in the portal right now. Considering the schools that want him he is considered a very good player. judge for yourself. video:

Isn’t he the same size or smaller than Dawes? Didn’t CBB criticize our smaller guards this past season?

He is a solid 6-2 where Dawes is considered around 6-1.might have more length and is a better athlete. Check highlights posted. He was a 4 star in HS. There are a few 4 stars who go the Ivy League route like Jordan Brunner at Yale.

If we truly did recruit this kid out of high school, and he

chose AN IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL over Clemson, that tells you all you need to know about Brown-L's recruiting prowess. A 4-Star settling for an Ivy League school doesn't even make sense. Something doesn't ring true somewhere.

also, finished 2nd for Jordan Brunar who ended up at Yale, but then transferred to Alabama.

Ohio State, Stanford, Providence, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Florida, and others? Because all of those schools also recruited him and offered him a scholarship.
Sometimes the default assumption that Brownell is inadequate/clueless is unfair. In fact, it usually is.

Judge is right. Already visited Alabama. Can they get him will be a big IF, but what might help is he was recruited by Clemson in HS. I would think playing with PJ Hall and Hunter Tyson is a big selling point.

Going to Princeton actually makes a lot of sense if he knows he’s never going to the NBA and values a Princeton degree. Probably means the kid is a lot smarter than most recruits. I see no reason to bash Brownell‘s recruiting in this instance.

IMO - not a good fit. He does not dish the ball.

Ok, so he can score in Ivy League.
I have felt that we need a true point guard, who can dish the ball, bring the team together, run the offense. This guy has a career assist per game of slightly over 2. Last year he averaged 2.5 assists per game. That is 516th in the ncaa. Surely we can find a true point guard that can dish the ball better. Otherwise, he becomes a short #2 at 6-2 and we still lack a point.
