I completely and absolutely agree. With our defense having a month to rest, recouped and plan....I am as sure we win as I am that the coots suck.

What team is as good on both sides of the ball as Clemson?
Certainly not Oklahoma, and certainly not Bama and their one dimensional offense.
We can load the box and man up on the outside and I have all the confidence in the world in Mack, Tankersley, and Kearse against Bama's WR corps.

I'm seriously, I am almost always either pessimistic or cautiously optimistic about us. Even against bad-ish teams. I was worried about SC - and I'm not kidding (and hey, it was darn close there at the end). I told my wife while we were up 21-3 that it wouldn't last. Did the same thing against ND. I was very nervous about UNC.
But we're not gonna lose to OU. I think we'll win by 17 or more. I'll be more worried if we play Bama, but I am simply not too worried about OU.
Too bad we're not playing MSU. I'd be even less worried about them. I think OU is good enough on a given day, if the ball bounced their way, to beat us, but I think it's pretty unlikely. But I think we would beat Michigan State ten times in ten tries.
I wouldn't beat shocked if OU beat us, but I would be pretty darn surprised.

If Oklahoma continues to play the way they did over their last 6 games, no way we beat them. I believe they will stick with a two back system and that will be hard for us to defend. And, I have not been impressed with our overall performance during the latter half of the season.

Your opinion is based on what facts? That mighty schedule they played? All the first string QBs they played? All the 100+ ranked defenses they played. If it smells like a coot it must be a coot. so yes I have been to a few games. The poster did not ask for facts, he only asked if we had an opinion as whether we would win or lose. I merely stated what I think is obvious to anyone who knows anything about football. IF, IF, IF Oklahoma continues to play as they did in November and IF!, IF! IF! we continue to play like we did in November, we will lose.
As for labeling me a coot merely because you don't agree with me is about as childish as it comes. I am a 1972 graduate of Clemson and can assure you there is no one on this earth that hopes we win on New Year's Eve any more than I do.

mix of size and speed with Shaq, Dodd, Reader, Wilkins, Carlos, and even Pegano has played some good snaps this season. Then we have BJ, BB..... while our SAFETIES, Kearse and Green, are both 6'4"+ 220+! Mack can more than handle his own on an island. He has shut some REALLY GOOD ball players down in his 2 years playing/starting at CU. Alexander has fallen down a couple of times, but that happens when feet get tangled. When you shut down Fuller, I don't care if they played in rain sleet or snow, that's really impressive! CBV will put 8....sometimes 9 in the box in 2 back sets, and anyone will have a tough time running against the size of our front 8/9. They'll take shots, but they haven't played a D front like ours. Guarantee it! Mayfield will get his share of scrambles off of broken plays, but he's not DW4.

I have a really hard time believing that OU is better than FSU| ND| UNC ... with that said DW4 will not let us lose this game. A turnover meltdown is the only way Clemson loses this game. Dabo and co. will have the boys ready, i expect a nasty chippy game where the depth acquired in the past recruiting classes shines through. CU by 14.

I believe we can, but all of these teams are good. A lot will depend on how "the ball bounces". We have the best talent, so that gives us a slight edge.

We are the more balanced team. We are not better than OU on special teams kicks/punts and returns. If we get turn-over prone once again this will be a nail biter. You all know those are the only honest weakness our team has shown us except for what I hope was late season fatigue/injury for our defense.
I predict as exciting finish with our Tigers advancing to the title game.

Yes, the time off is going to do wonders for our defense to rest up after 10 straight weeks of games. Also good for Shaq and Ben to rest up with the injuries they had.
Fully confident our defense will be prepared and our offense will move along like usual.

I think this game could go either way. Sometimes spread offenses lose some timing and rhythm during the layoff plus defenses get rested. I think the QB play will be the difference here. Even if DW4 has a bad game, he has the ability to make up for it with his legs. I'll say CU wins 26-23.
