Are people seriously giving Mickelson grief about 9/11???

Of all the various ways that politicians (on both sides...this is a non-partisan lunge post) are interwoven with these people who ultimately hate us and have done terrible things to our country, and it's a second tier golf league that sets them off????

trying to work on not getting as worked up.
phil's a dirtbag. fact. a very, very likable dirtbag I might add.
he's a likeable bro, who likes to smoke pot, drink, gamble, and can hit the #### out of a golf ball.
he's on his way out, burned through what money he made, and is getting paid.
no different than the people in this shitholeofacity between VA and MD.

He Charles Barkley'd all his money away and he wants to be leaving more than a couple-five mil and a nice trophy room to his offspring. Or maybe he just wants more to gamble. who knows.

was crushing that year. He'd light a smoke after every drive, and before his approach shot, take a long drag, and throw the butt on the fairway, leaving his caddie to pick it up after his shot.
As an 18 year old at the time, there was a certain appeal to how much that pizzzzed off the codgers in attendance.

of John Daly.
Little pudgy blonde kid maybe 8 or 9 with a mullet dribbles up the court, fakes the defender out of her Keds, then hits a pull-up 2 on 8.5' rims from half of half court. It's raindrops, just a whoosh and the little shitbag starts doing finger pistols and blowing away the smoke.
Thinking of getting him on a NIL deal if anyone wants to invest in something not crypto for a change.

Because Ain’t a soul in here would turn down 200 million to play golf. As far as the sports washing thing goes, people still be driving non-electric cars and we know the oil is coming mostly from less than desirable places, so spare me the ######## tears.

I completely agree with the nuclear sentiment.
However, the latter portion of your comment is somewhat naiive.
They're so intertwined in our markets, their capital isn't going anywhere. Their money managers will be long nuclear like everyone else. Hell, of the $9T BlackRock is managing, I'd wager at least $500B is from Middle East families, if not more. The mistake has been made, we're just exacerbating it at this point.
We've leveraged the financial engine that was the American middle class to generate massive, massive, motherfuckingmassive amounts of wealth to criminal enterprises across the globe. Then turn around and ##### when those criminal enterprises do #### we don't like with their money.
It is what it is.

The people that ask this question are probably the same that support the NBA bending over to the Chinese.
I do think LIV seems like exhibition tournaments so i dont have much interest, but it will be more intriguing to see how this plays out.

Resentment towards the Saudis?
Jun 14, 2022, 11:08 AM
|
|
Yeah - count me in. From the hijackers themselves to government involvement, their role in 9/11 can’t be understated nor forgotten. You can argue the extent of government involvement _ maybe not directly but indirectly by turning a blind eye towards terrorist’s financing and actions. And compound the 9/11 loss of life, impacts to families and long term impacts to 1st responders with the causalities and costs of a 20 year war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Like Russia and China, Saudi Arabia is never an ally or to be trusted. The US Government has to be pragmatic and deal with these governments. Where feasible, I don’t support individuals and private enterprises that align with the Saudis. Some exceptions can’t be avoided _ like oil.

This dumb golf stuff is the most pushback I’ve heard against the Saudis in 20 years. How about people get riled up over Saudi associations that mean something?

Individual athletes are making their own decisions about whether or not to play in the bin Laden Classic or whatever. The choice is between conscience and greed. It's really stark.
The relationship between two nations is much thornier. Saudi Arabia is very unpopular in the U.S., but there isn't any political will to do anything about it. High gas prices don't poll well either.
The complaints about hypocrisy derail the conversation, as they always do, which is often why they're employed. Not always, but often.

I don't GAS about the golf stuff. Maybe it's awesome and maybe it's the worst thing ever---I don't know, don't care, and likely never will.
Just slightly more fascinated by what it takes to push our collective buttons these days on certain topics.
