Here's the order of play calling....

RUN UP THE MIDDLE

BUBBLE SCREEN

SLANT

PUNT

That is what I saw for several seasons now. Whenever you have once in a generation QBs that can quickly do a check down and throw to an open receiver you don't need that. Also, when you have a seasoned O Line it.

Where's the play action pass?

Where's the Flanker DIG Screen?

Where's the TE play underneath?

Where's the run by design QB Draw?

Where's the RB OFF TACKLE?

Where is the Deep Corner Post Route?

Where is the Direct Snap?


MISSING IN ACTION! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

We definitely need a new play book. This one is old and outdated. It's one thing if you got the #1 Offensive Line in the Nation with the #1 QB in the Nation and 3 #1 RBs #1TE and #1 WRs. We simply don't and we have to call plays that put the team in position to score and extend drives.

Each play should be designed to set up a chunk yard play for two plays later. This is how you manipulate a defense. Most of the plays being called this season are designed to throw 5 yards to a receiver in double coverage.... Not a recipe for success. This team has the pieces to make an opponent choose their own poison, but over throwing receivers, dropped passes, and poor offensive line play has costs this team two games now. It is time for a change somewhere and it has nothing to do with the players.

From what I see, we don't run anything other than runs up the middle and bubble screens.

It does not matter how thick the playbooks happens to be if the players can execute page one... let along read a D.

This game was tried to get DJ executing something and it did not happen. It is just were we are at. It isn't that the play-calling is ineffective, if the play-making is completely missing then the calls get "easier" until something clicks. It just isnt clicking at any level.
