Why do guys fair catch on the 2-yard line?

Michigan just pinned themselves on the two instead of getting the ball on the 20.

It used to be coaching gospel that you never fielded a punt inside the 5-yard line.

If you fair catch inside the 25 the ball comes out to the 25. The only time it is spotted where the receiver calls for a fair catch is if it was first touched by someone on the kicking team… which never happens.

Yes. At NC State and ECU. I know players that played everywhere else too. Every team basically has assistants to keep track of your crap and "assist" you. I'm manager now!
