Approaching a Golden Age for Clemson Athletics

Jun 10, 2016, 3:28 PM

We reflect on the end of a great first season for Monte Lee and the ACC Champion Clemson Tiger Baseball Team and discuss the potential success of the three major sports. Hopefully in time so you can listen on your Friday drive home from work. Enjoy!

4:53 – The baseball season comes to an end with losses to Oklahoma State in regional action. We discuss how we got there, why it was special and what it will take to improve next year.

23:30 – Are we entering a Golden Age for Clemson athletics? Football, baseball, soccer and possibly basketball all on the rise.

24:71 –Jaron Blossomgame’s return could be a turning point for Brad Brownell and Clemson Basketball. How does his return and the shift in recruiting philosophy affect our expectations for this program going forward?

43:19 – Can the NCAA competently police satellite camps? Does Dabo’s refusal to participate put Clemson at a recruiting disadvantage?

Don't say we are "entering the Golden Age". The last I heard

that term used was back in the '60's, when Paul Dietzel said Usuc football was entering the "Golden Age" and then he resigned before the season was over, after starting something like 2-5.

We used "approaching" instead of "entering" intentionally. We haven't arrived and not claiming we're there. But there's reason for optimism across all three of the major sports.

little bit of a stretch

wait for basketball to show improvement and baseball to start making Omaha again to call it a golden age
