Well, more whataboutism and conspiracy theory. Who would have thunk it. LOL. Anyway, I don't know if this is real or not, but found it hilarious that Trump's pal Putin thought it "would help secure Moscow’s strategic objectives, among them “social turmoil” in the US“(check) and that their analysis was that Trump was "impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex”(checkmate)

Glad we have Biden now. These documents prove Russia's direct influence on our election. Biden will come down hard on them.

Jul 16, 2021, 12:12 PM [ in reply to Impressive level of detail. Did it document the collusion ]

Personally, I read it and think the Pub led senate intel committee report clearly showed collusion between the Trump campaign (esp. Manafort and Stone). Especially when it came out after that that the guy Manafort was working with and passing internal campaign polling data to was in fact a Russian intel operative. What they could never determine was if Trump himself was colluding and this is perfectly understandable for a guy that refuses to text or email. Now, did that collusion affect the election, don't know, but there are a couple of threads from yesterday talking about social media influence. So ... ???

Wasn't trying to convince you. Past experience is that Trumpers are impervious to that. Even had a friend that read the senate intel report, said something "was off" about it and then said, even if it's true, I don't care, Trump is my man.

Jul 16, 2021, 12:57 PM [ in reply to Uh, so “no” on collusion. Must have been other files.*** ]

I've linked to the collusion stuff before...you know. Kilimnik. Roger Stone. You ignored that too.

You know...how Manafort was feeding Kilimnik - a known Russian asset - polling data - and how Stone wound up with the Russian DNC hack and fed it to Julian Assange at WikiLeaks? That's called "collusion"? Mind, they didn't flip on Trump personally because - drum roll! - he pardoned them but that stuff's public record now.

Not a "hoax", sorry. Trump's campaign and associates did in fact collude with Russia, and that has been positively established. Anyone who claims otherwise is in fact a liar.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Manafort was compromised, and a player. Actually, the player. It'd take a night's reading to read up on Manafort...it's actually worth it, the dude's colorful, will get played by Leonardo de Caprio someday. But yeah, Kilimnik was Russian intelligence. And Manafort knew it. And was feeding him stuff. It was his big link back to Russia. Somehow this report magically re-surfaced...after Trump left office. Nobody's quite sure how. Smoking gun...years after the fact, long after it could have done some good. Treasury Department memo. Just sort of randomly popped up one day back in April like it had always been there, no explanation, left a bunch of people totally sh!t-faced.

We don't have to do this dance. I know you think I'm nuts.

Jul 16, 2021, 1:49 PM

Kilimnik, according to previous stories I read, worked for Manafort. No where have I seen any evidence (including the article you just linked) that Manafort knew Kilimnik was a spy.

It's okay, though. We agree on plenty. I don't think Putin is our friend, or a good guy. I don't want to see Trump on the ticket in 2024, and do concede that he is tragically flawed.

Jul 16, 2021, 3:27 PM

Dude, Manafort knew everything. Promise. Like I said, Manafort was the Player. He showed up and instantly righted a disjointed Trump Campaign; the dude had everybody on speed-dial; everybody who came in contact with him was just in awe of his phone skills. He was the guy moving pieces around the board. Again, if you've got some time, read up. The dude's a fascinating read. Case study in hubris. Basically he serviced the oligarchs and decided he was going to be one himself. Magnetic guy, had incredible charisma. "Personal poise" was his stock-in-trade. But Kilimnik worked for him...and Manafort knew exactly what Kilimnik was. At some point we're going to see Leonardo de Caprio playing him in a series or movie; Manafort's that fascinating in his own right. Kingmaker. And Trump wouldn't have been president without him.

Re: Impressive level of detail. Did it document the collusion

Jul 16, 2021, 12:23 PM [ in reply to Impressive level of detail. Did it document the collusion ]

Again, Swarley, I'm addressing you because the others are largely hopeless.

Putin was a KGB agent stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, who specialized in recruiting insurgents against the West. This is how he thinks. This is how he has always thought. Did you know Putin's group largely created (drum roll) Antifa?

Antifa spun off of groups like the RAF - the Red Army Faction, also known as the Baader-Meinhof Gang - and the Red Brigades. These groups were created and funded directly by Putin's KGB unit in the 60's and 70's and absolutely tore up Europe. Kidnappings, bombings, industrial sabotage, even murder.

The Red Brigades kidnapped former Italian Prime Minister Aldo Moro and left him dead in the trunk of a car...because he was trying to negotiate a peace settlement. At that point, the KGB largely was pushing leftist insurgency.

These days, the Russkies are doing it from both ends, left and right. Ideology is largely irrelevant; what they're looking for is destabilization; what they want is to upend the current world order the USA currently dominates. Vladimir Putin is assuredly not our friend, people; he's been rabbit-stabbing us in the back for decades now. And Russian's tactics have evolved. They've gone digital. But they haven't altered their end-goal of taking us down one iota; Vladimir Putin is still very much a creature of the Cold War. And he is a psychopath who intends to destroy us. Why people doubt that just blows my mind. The dude is a villain.

If you're actually interested, Bellingcat - shockingly adept amateur digital sleuths out of the Netherlands - have been tracking bad actors - including Russian security services - all over the planet of late. They've been up to some stuff, to put it mildly. Have a gander. Bellingcat busted Navalny's FSB poisoners having a go just the other day...at a freaking poet.

I do not doubt that Putin's Russia tries to undermine our elections or direct them toward their desired outcomes. I don't doubt that Russia printed some documents that point out obvious characteristics of Trump that anybody who ever watched The Apprentice would pick up on.

They might even have dirt on him. I bet they have dirt on Hillary, Biden, you, and even me.

I just don't think it's a coincidence that this article (and other related articles) release during the hearings in Arizona. This sort of thing happens all the time. So either somebody fabricated the articles and saved them for a "rainy day" or they are real documents and they sat on them for today.

I don't think my comment was whataboutism (but maybe it was). Conspiracy theory? Yea sure. I'll wear that badge all day long.

I'm telling you, anytime there's anything that reflects poorly on the Uniparty, they'll be news break about Trump, or aliens, , or a mass shooting, or somebody in East West Africastan will get bombed. It always freaking happens. The news media is 100% complicit in all of it as well (including Fox).

I see your point, but I don't think its more than the Trump very diehard base that gives two sh!ts about this hearing in AZ. Its a very flawed "audit" by design (or they would have hired an experienced auditing firm) and Is this percentage of Americans(15-20%) worth putting out this right now as a "diversion". Right now, Trump's approval rating has dropped to like 30%, and if he keeps saying more crazy crap like he did yesterday about Milley and the Coup, it will keep going down. Once it gets low enough, the sane Pubs will band together and break away from the whirlpool he has our party in

I was/am a Trump guy. But I don't really think I want him back in office if I'm being honest. I really really don't want Biden, but oh well... I would imagine that his approval rating is pretty low, like you said.

I'll quote Chris Crebs with CISA, it was the most secure in the history of the US. Why, because unlike before, there were paper ballots printed out of almost every voting machine. Therefore, there was a paper trail. The paper trail in GA, when they did like the second or third recount, by hand showed the result was like 0.002% off of the original numbers. The GA SOS, Brad R., a faithful lifelong pub, kept insisting that the election in GA was free and fair and what did he get for all his hard work and troubles, a call from an Insane Narcissist Pres. requesting that he "find" 11,000 or so votes for him and then he got death threats from all the similarly insane minions. We are Fucckked, because this insane crap may become "NORMAL" for every election. Election administrators and workers all over the country are quitting and I don't blame them one bit, but what the hell does this mean for 2022 & 24?????????

Re: fair enough.

Jul 16, 2021, 2:14 PM

Well, I'll admit that this might be the most productive discussion I've had on this board yet. Thanks! You might just be restoring my faith in humanity. As far as Chris Crebs, he was the guy in the fed that was responsible for shoring up election security after 2016 had revealed some problems. Ive seen numerous interviews with various SOS's across the country that lauded his efforts and they all worked together so I would assume they would be the ones who knew. He is also a lifelong Pub and was fired by Trump shortly after his statement. This has always been the problem with Trump, he didn't care if you were Dem or Pub, worthless or very competent at your job, say something he took as disloyal, you were history. Anyway, can't make you have faith in him or Brad R. but I would add this, I would trust that Brad R. knew about the inner workings of the GA system way more than the link you shared. Esp. when a) he was a Pub that voted for Trump and he stated that he would rather that it had gone Trump's way and B) his wife is getting threatened with rape and a slow death among the many many other death threats he was getting so if anyone in this country could have been talked into helping out Trump in GA, it would have been him. I came away from this with great RESPECT for the guy for all the crap he went through and my mother-in-law DETESTS the guy and Gov. Kemp for not "finding a way". Oh well, I understand you better now and I appreciate your thoughts!

Trump must have done a tremendous job as President, at stopping Russian election interference, as that doesn't seem to be a concern regarding the 2020 election results. Odd that a Russian spy would be so effective at that.
