Apparently Hopkins doesn't realize that DW Daniel was racist

Clemson was never integrated during his watch at Clemson and probably participated in making sure that Clemson stayed white all the way up to his retirement in 1961. Was it a coincidence that Clemson admitted its first black student two years after Daniel retired? Probably not.

What was D.W. Daniel's position at Clemson? I was there in late 50s and do not recall him in the administration.
