Fact is, ACC teams may simply not have the option of

leaving. This article from the Augusta Chronicle, quoting the Athletic, seems to feel that there are options that are being discussed. I believe the option of forming an agreement with the Pac and Big12 is pure nonsense. We have been down that idiotic road with the alliance, which really makes ACC Commisioner Jim Phillips look naive and foolish.

An Alliance doesn't move the $ needle. One more time tonight, the ACC just needs ND and another strong athletic school and the needle moves. For me that means one of Big12 teams from Texas for football or Kansas is basketball moves the $ needle.

So, what if you are a group of 5 school?

I mean, honestly, they have no legit shot of making the CFP prior to Cincinatti. The case could have easily have been made to leave them out; based on the supposed strength of schedule.

Is everyone worried about losing out on money? Or is this about not having a possibility of making the playoffs? Or the thought that there won't be any good players who want to come to a non-super-conference school ruling the day?

Because, weather and who your coach is will still matter! The school is getting that money for conference alignment; not the players. Not the NIL alumni at Northwestern or Iowa or Minnesota or Vanderbilt. Because if all of a sudden people think that all the 4 and 5 star players who don't get an LSU or Alabama offer will start filling in other Super conf schools - you are sadly mistaken.
This is ironically where NIL could be a benefit. You don't need them all; you just need enough! Rutgers isn't going to start stealing Florida-based players from FSU all of a sudden! It's cold up there, LOL!

I just can't see it. All of a sudden the Maryland fand base will start getting players North Carolina, Clemson, FSU and Miami and sometimes Nancy State get because they are in the Big 10? Or Arkansas(possible), Auburn(maybe), Kentucky(nah), S. Carolina(not likely).

Valley boy I love how the majority of your posts are negative and usually begin with some form of "for the last time" etc. Like we are supposed to take you as some sort of authority. Especially when you are saying something like kansas basketball moves a needle. It might move a needle if you are the big east and you are adding them.

we need football power. And the fact is there isn't much out there available to help. Notre Dame is a pipe dream that will never happen. Pulling the top from the ACC, PAC12, and BIG12 like was mentioned in SI is the best bet.
