Sep 12, 2021, 11:33 AM

What is there to defend?
I am not a conference Homer. I don't give a flip about ACC or SEC. What I can tell you is that as of week 2, the ACC can't lick the SEC bootstraps.
Who really cares!! I am a Clemson fan, not an ACC fan!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right. If someone gives me something specific that I should defend…

Sep 12, 2021, 12:55 PM

I can do it. But I don’t know what the specific argument is

So until then, I don’t give a crap what people say. I just watch Clemson play.

Never defended it. Still don’t want to be in the mouth breathing (minus Vandy and UF) SEC.***

In a word.....

No.

No excuse

No credibility

No chance

No way to defend the absurd loses

Overall the ACC is garbage but BC,Pitt , NCST , UVA ,UNC ,Miami , VT and maybe WF will have decent years . We might get a couple 9 wins and probably all of them will win 7-8 games .
So when we play these teams we must crush them

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

When is the last time Nancy State beat an SEC team?

Sep 12, 2021, 10:22 AM

I can't recall it ever happening...

You used the word “still”? Who on Tnet has defended the ACC? We are two games in so unlike the MSM and mouth breathers in the SEC how about we enjoy the season and see how things shake out?

People defend the ACC all of the time on here and act as if its an ESPN conspiracy. Its odd, but happens almost daily on here. Clemson is awesome. The ACC sucks. No big deal.

Conference affiliation doesn't matter here until the SEC has a bad weekend. Then it's all that matters.

The ACC is awesome. ESPN is just out to get us. You didn't get the memo?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Quit playing

Sep 12, 2021, 10:32 AM

SC State, Mercer, Wofford etc.

Spending half a day in the car driving the 200 miles to Clemson to see SC State just isn’t a good thing! Especially if it’s a late game and I get home at midnight.

Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC?

Sep 12, 2021, 10:28 AM

Pitt beat Tenn
MS beat NCS. That’s 1-1

Yeah FSU lost to J State but SC need a last second field goal to beat ESU.

Sounds about even to me.

Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC?

Sep 12, 2021, 10:31 AM

They have bad teams too. We have 1 good team though. Its not be objective and admit it. Just the way it is. There are plenty of positives. Think how many players we get to play with all of the blowouts. Its like we are always preparing for the playoff. It works.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah and FSU is supposed to be one of the conference

Sep 12, 2021, 10:40 AM [ in reply to Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC? ]

flag bearers. SC is a perennial SEC bottom feeder. That's not even close to even.

We need some programs like FSU, Miami, VT, etc to get up to that tier where we can at least compare them to Florida, LSU, A&M and such. If we are comparing FSU to SCAR it's just one more indicator of how bad the ACC is right now sans Clemson.

Sep 12, 2021, 10:49 AM [ in reply to Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC? ]

UVa smoked the same Illini team that beat the huskers a couple of weeks ago. The ACC has lousy teams, like the SEC, Big10, Pax12 and the soon to be dismantled Big12. We have great basketball and baseball, excellent Soccer and actual academics. You d*cks that want to be in the SEC should start wearing garnet and black.

Why so negative? We just need to do the best we can in the situation we're in. It's just like everything else in life. Control the things we can control.

Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC?

Sep 12, 2021, 10:55 AM

They shouldn't but they will. Some people have hooked themselves to the ACC bandwagon so hard they can't be realistic or objective anymore. Just look at all the excitement on here when the "Alliance" was announced. It was nothing more than an empty publicity stunt because the other conferences got schooled, yet most ( not all) peed their pants with glee when it was announced. The only reason people gave for it being a good thing sounded something like this " yeah take that SEC,, SEC sucks Alliance rules, ESPN and SEC are going to be begging to be in our Alliance"... The primary reason people give for staying in the ACC is " Well it is easier in this conference" ... Is that what we want? I think being in a more challenging football environment would bring better games, better respect, and yes.. more money for our athletic dept. However the level of paranoia over the SEC ( which is unfounded and ridiculous) will continue to win out and Clemson will eventually be just like the other ACC teams and be terribly mediocre. This has already happened in baseball, and this may be the season it happens in football. For the record I am a Clemson grad who ONLY wants what is best for Clemson whether our future is with the PAC 12, Big 10 or SEC.. or even the Big 12 at this point, but I don't give a rip for a conference especially one as under preforming and detrimental as the ACC.

Sep 12, 2021, 1:14 PM

by all means make your argument.. whatever it is. Convince me I am wrong. It is real easy to disregard someone's opinion, and much harder to defend your own. Please tell me all the ways Clemson is best served in the ACC. I will be waiting....

Most that "peed themselves" according to you was smart enough to understand that it was mostly about stopping the SEC from making all the rules, that the entire nation had to play by. Must have missed you, somehow.

Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC?

Sep 12, 2021, 12:47 PM

Wrong place. We can't stand NCSU and Dirty Dave and we think FSU's fall is the most deserved in recent sports history. Especially the way things went down last night with Z Cooper getting the last laugh.

The rest of the ACC held their own yesterday. I'd go as far as saying VT, UVA, WF and even BC very well will be solid by season's end. I can't stand UNCheat. Pitt has always been a flip of the coin, ask Penn St. GT is digging itself out of the Paul Johson Era. Miami always thinks they are back. Duke does as well as they can, considering they are Duke. U of L is in some sort of purgatory, not sure what happens in the great state of Kentucky or care to. Then Syracuse has the wrong 5* QB, good for them. Again, I do not care, because Clemson takes care of Clemson.

Re: Anybody still wanna defend the ACC?

Sep 12, 2021, 1:01 PM

Unfortunately whether you want to or not you have to hope the ACC does well. The better the conference the more more money you get. Now with NIL players will go where they can make the most money. College football as we know it will drastically change in the next few years. I'm not sure how the bottom teams can compete. Clemson will be hurt by the lack of marquee games and the big gap in TV money.

Clemson won. Thats really all I care about. Pitt and Virginia both had impressive wins fwiw.
