Looking forward to trying it. Menu looks really good.

I think it’s ok but haven’t found one thing that I would order over and over yet. I’ve been a couple of times.

I have. Its was pretty good. We used to have gamewatches at walk-ons. They closed our location at the start of covid. I mostly ate burgers and sandwiches. I think i had some sort of alfredo a time or two.

You an OSU fan? If so you seem like the most reasonable, thoughtful buckeye fan I’ve ever seen on the inter webs. Kudos to you if so.

Thank you. 2009 graduate of The Ohio State University (official name since 1890s but I understand if it gets under people’s skin). I have lived most of my life in San Antonio, Tx. I realize i am a stranger in a foreign land. I came here to find out what you guys think of realignment and a perspective of college football different than my own. I hope I can give you guys a little different point of view without stepping on anyone’s toes. Buckeye fans feel like they are attacked from all sides, so they fiercely defend themselves. Some may go too far, but what are you gonna do?

BuckeyeChris, my brother lived in Columbus for quite a few years and I visited him there often so I am reasonably familiar with the home of OSU. Last summer I had a really nice tour of your campus and came away feeling good about the TOSU.

Lots of people hate schools that win a lot of games. The Buckeyes have won a lot so it makes sense to me that there is no shortage of Buckeye haters everywhere. We feel hated by many schools in our region of the country too.

Clemson has also won a lot of games, but compared to TOSU, we are a small school, in a small state and our really big success in football came a long time after that of Ohio State. Back in the 1930s The Shoe was essentially as big as it is now. Your guys played Notre Dame in Columbus back in the middle of the 1930s, I think it was '35. Attendance at that game, when SRO was normal, was a bit over 85,000.
At the same time, Clemson was playing our games on Riggs Field which held only a few thousand and was seldom close to having a full house. In those years we played most of our games on the road since no one made money at our place. We played all over SC. All our games with South Carolina were in Columbia. All our games with Georgia Tech were in Atlanta. We were small, poor and pretty much no one outside of our region really knew exactly where Clemson was. When I attended Clemson, our stadium regularly had crowds a bit under or a bit over 30,000. Meanwhile you guys were winning Natty's had a legendary coach, were on TV all the time and had a guy win back to back Nattys. Our schools were not comparable. When we played Nebraska for the title in 1981, the TV network showed a map to let America know where Clemson was.

Today, Ohio is still a huge, populous state compared to SC. You have more students, more money, more alumni and your TV audiences are bigger. We are still a small school from a small state.

I was there when we beat TOSU for our first Natty back in 1978. What I recall of the TOSU fans was mostly laughter ahead of the game, and then surprise and incredulity after the game. What I did not see before or after the game was much respect from the majority of Buckeye fans.

Since that game, you guys have won 409 games,Oklahoma has won 402, Alabama has won 388 and Clemson has won 380. I suspect you know that head to head since the faithful first match up, Clemson is 4-1 versus TOSU. We have won 3 Nattys, and your guys have won 2. Still everytime we play, it seems most of your fans show up expecting to kill us like we are Northwestern. And most of the time, it seems like after the games, Clemson gets very little respect from most Ohio State fans.

I think Clemson has earned and deserves respect, perhaps especially from TOSU fans considering the history of the past 44 years. I suspect we've done better against the Buckeyes than any team in the Big10.

We are the new kids on the block if you consider the really really long term. But most fans who pay attention these days have no connection at all with the very long ago days when your history and reality was much better than ours.

I say all this to explain a bit of the bitterness of many Clemson fans toward Ohio State. Normally we are not a bitter fan base and we probably have a lower percentage of rowdy fans than most schools. But there is no denying the hard edge between TOSU fan base and the Clemson fan base. It would be nice if that edge were dulled a bit and both fan bases respected the other.

If you ever come to a game at Clemson, come on our board and let us know you're on the way. You will be welcome at many tailgates and I think you'd have a good time.

BTW, congratulations on kicking our a$$eS last time our teams got together. I'd guess that felt good.

Go Tigers!!

you came here to discuss realignment but you have had an account since 2016?

Because that math adds up...

Thats a great point. My first post was a couple weeks ago. I tried to create an account to discuss realignment and this site said there already was an account. For the life of me i cant remember creating it back then. I have, over the years, stopped by a couple times to read what you guys were saying.

We ate there many times when we lived in Louisiana, outside of NOLA. Food was always good and the Krispie Kreme donut bread pudding is a must have!!

We have one in Knoxville. Been once. Food is decent but thought it was over-priced for what it is. We didn't have a bad experience but it didn't "wow" us enough to go back.

"over priced" or just priced how everything else is when you aren't eating at some maw and paw restaurant in Greenwood?

Re: Anybody ever eaten at a Walk-ons?

I'll Take Maw and Paw restaurants in places like Greenwood any day of the week over a cookie cutter chain restaurant. Local restaurants are often the best! By the way, Greenwood is full of chain restaurants. They far outnumber the local ones.

used to manage a fast-casual restaurant.

When our owner was looking to expand he found multiple studies saying more people eat out for dinner in Greenwood per capita than any where else in SC.

Interesting fact of the day i guess.

I went there once. I thought my food was average bar food, but the person I was with really enjoyed hers. Great place to watch sports. I would go back and try to branch out and try other items.

I have eaten at the one in Orlando and the one in Shreveport. I had the alligator wrap and the crawfish etouffe(sp?) and enjoyed it at both places.

I rode by the Walk On's in Clemson location last Friday. A lot of work still needs to be done. I thought I had heard that it was supposed to open the first home game on 9/10. Not going to make it!!!

I've had bar food at the one near me in Myrtle Beach on 501. Nothing wrong with it but it's not my fave restaurant/bar for food. It's more about the sports atmosphere for watching games, which is pretty cool.

I think one of our freshman O-line may have eaten a walkon
