Only answering in regards to recruiting: they are outside the Rivals Top 50 for the 2023 class. They have an average ranking of 2.89 stars for their 9 commits. They are 10 spots below Vandy and 19 below SCAR.
Saying, he has not hit the ground running up there.

Of course he got a late start but UVA was 63rd in recruiting for this year. Tony is a smart man and did sign 6 offensive linemen. UVA is a great school in a beautiful part of the country so he will do fine.

His biggest challenge is going to be getting administration buy in. UVA has one of, if not the singular wealthiest donor base in the ACC and they routinely pull in massive athletic department donations, they just distribute those donations far more liberally than most schools OR the donations are directed to other programs. One reason they're routinely good at pretty much every sport other than football is because the administration won't commit to football. In the modern college football environment they have the alumni base $$$ and generosity to be a consistently good program, they need administration buy in though.

Great to see a school that cares about all their sports. This affects the most students. Who really cares about being a football only school. It has ruined most every sport here except soccer. Remember other coaches here who allowed football players in other sports.

The last time we went to the college world series and had a great male track team was before the 9 million dollar coach stopped allowing 2 sport athletes (with one exception)
