Yes, grew up as a Paladin fan in the 70s and early 80s. Was in the upper deck in Columbia in 82 rooting them on to victory. Hope their next coach is a good one.

think they offer Elliot?

Dec 2, 2016, 4:29 PM

Would he even consider a D2 job?

Schools would offer Scott before Elliot.

Scott has head coaching experience, albeit High School, he took them to a championship in the first year.

He also has recruiting experience, and comes from a coaching lineage.

Elliot is turning out to be a great coordinator, but lacks overall experience.

Furman's not D2. 1AA (FCS)

I'm sure Furman puts in a call to both

Scott and Elliot but no way either one takes that job. I'm sure Furman can't match the salary and really nothing to gain from the Furman job.

Scott and Elliot are OCs at a top 5 D-1 program which also happens to be their alma mater....both are solid recruiters and will have very good opportunities down the road.

Watched many FU football games in person from the early 60s till the mid 80s when I moved to NC. Generally liked to see them do well.

Great school and history. It takes the right kind of coach, and administration, to be successful at Furman.

This would be a perfect fit for Scott. Coach Ayers at Wofford is also getting close to retirement so this program also would be an excellent one to take over in the near future.
