I think it is to get publicity for the new tour. It will be interesting to see the list of has beens that will be playing on it.

the Saudi's mega bucks for gambling debts and has been told he "will" play in those events to pay them off.
Otherwise, I don't understand why he would ruin his pga career and pga legacy. I get his concerns on media rights - but he's made a fortune. Maybe he gambled more of it away. Who knows.
The unauthorized book coming out today hasn't helped his image either per se.

My understanding was it started when he got in trouble for insider trading and some dude took the brunt of the punishment from it and somehow either trying to pay that guy or something- the mob got involved. I don’t think it’s the Saudi’s he owes…
There were a couple stories out there saying it’s something like $40 Mil, but there are rumors the number is actually over $250 Mil.
Can’t confirm any of this, but I thought I would add my rumor mill rumblings anyways.
