Another issue people don’t seem to understand with the NCAA

Players should be paid just like any other business!

No... the NCAA is not capitalistic. It’s actually extremely socialist. Your money for football provides for others.

Most all the people saying players should be paid are huge liberals

It’s laughable - these are non-profits

Do they take in a lot of revenue, sure, but it goes right back out the door with the bulk going directly to benefit the players in the form of scholarships, housing, food, healthcare, world class training and meeting facilities, tutoring, etc. What doesn’t go directly to the athletes goes to the coaches and improved facilities for the fans who are other big pieces with regard to maximizing revenue and growth which in turn would provide even greater benefit and opportunity to the SA. Go ahead and take away those last 2 pieces and see where revenue and ultimately expenses land..... there is a total lack of understanding of economics in this country and it’s maddening. Too many people see a revenue figure of 100 mil, 200 mil or whatever the $ and are convinced there has to be more available for them - it’s insane.

The lions (errrrr Tigers) share...

does go to fund scholarships.

The balance goes to a litany of other things including funding IPTAY, facilities, and a whole host of non-revenue sports.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Is the NCAA where that ends?

Or do you extend that to high schools that recruit players and have a healthy athletic department bank account? Wren recruited a QB from Mauldin High for 1 season and ended up winning a state title last year. I’m sure he was worth a few dollars to Coach Tate.
