Where is the air war?

I've seen very little mention of any air involvement in this war so far. There were some Russian helicopters early on that were involved and several were downed, and supposedly some Ukrainian and Russian jets were downed. But like others have mentioned, with that 40 mile convoy of Russian tanks and vehicles, it wouldn't take much from some attack helicopters and/or strafing runs from fighters to lay waste to that. I doubt they have much air cover. Ukraine supposedly has had pretty good air defense systems that have been working well. But you'd think we'd see or hear more of some air involvement from either/both sides. Maybe the Ukrainians are holding back until the convoy is stretched too far from home before they strike? This could be interesting....

As others have said, what a shame they don't have the A-10, but they do have the Su-25 Frogfoot, which is a loose knock-off of the A-10 (the closest the Russkies developed, anyway - doesn't seem to have near the survivability of the Warthog.

I saw some guy talking on the air earlier saying the Russian convoy includes air defense systems. He also says Ukraine has limited weapons for taking these units out and those weapons are currently being used against Russian forces that are close to them than this convoy. Basically the convoy is 20 miles away but they have forces 5 miles away to focus on right now with the limited supplies available.

if they send up their mig29s, they will crash or get shot down quicker than if mccain was the pilot

then mig29 sales wood drop

mig29 is like 6 wins, 18 losses in battle
