Another BEEF with these stinkin Ref's!

Jan 4, 2014, 2:22 AM

Somebody tell me why that wasn't a personal foul when Tajh threw the incomplete pass at Hot Rod's feet, then the Ohio St. player leveled him. Dabo threw a tantrum on the sidelines, and I threw one in my Den, trying to crawl through the TV screen and choke the Danged Zebra standing there watching the whole thing!!!

They flagged the guys dumping the Gatorade. How petty is

Jan 4, 2014, 2:25 AM

That?

Ya know...it almost appeared like a power thing to
that ref...his countenance was like a smirk or similar.
I don't ever remember seeing that before.

The Superman open the shirt move of Vic Beasly..I'm not terribly thrilled with those moves, but you can see that in almost every game you watch, and it not get called as excessive. Not that that makes it right, but if it's no more than what he did, I think it has to be overlooked.
Sideline penalty as well...thought that was ridiculous!
It was to the point, well, the refs were out of hand.
GO TIGERS!!!

Like I said earlier that was the correct call if you're being objective.

Do you open your shirt this way?

The call was not correct. It was not the throat slash gesture and that is what they thought it was. Vic's thumb was up and the ref saw that from behind.

It was a garbage call and calling it was absurd. That is the sort of objective/inconsistently applied call that is hurting the game. It had a HUGE impact on the game and it was wrong. The Superman gesture is dumb, but universally ignored in other games.

Lol at your thumbs down.

Either you don't watch the other games with the "super man sign" or you have a weird kind of shirt.

I don't know of any shirt you take off from the elbows and with your palms facing the ground and hands going across your neck. I mean I know for a fact superman didn't do that.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I watch plenty of games and that call was absurd....***

Yes. But I'm a man.

Clearly he was demonstrating how to unbutton your shirt from the top down. I fail to see how this is unsportsmanlike. Gentlemanly is more like it.

...American Conference getting their 3.5 hours of fame.

Let's get it while we can guys, and BTW, let's root for OSU!

That message was loud and clear.

You could see from Dabo's reactions to just about EVERY one of the penalities that he was stunned at the calls.

I got the feeling the refs had a bit of Napoleon syndrome since they are from a midlevel conference. What I did not understand was why the same actions by osu were not penalized when the flags flew against Clemson. The Tigers were penalized 250% more yards than osu.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Does anyone know the total yards

Jan 4, 2014, 2:40 AM

we were penalized? I'm guessing about 3 miles.

Re: Does anyone know the total yards

Jan 4, 2014, 2:41 AM

I think we ended up with 144 yards of penalties

It's not lost on me that the team from the ACC was consistently getting da' bidness from refs from the (former) Big East. A little bitter about conference realignment, maybe? Never forget that the new playoff leaves the AAC out in the cold with the likes of the MAC, Sunbelt & Conference USA. These refs were the last AAC reps that will see the field of a big time bowl in many, many years!

They were in the bag for OSU...I'd bring this game to the...

These guys should NEVER be allowed to officiate an NCAA football game again!

Seems to me the refs should have just left the flags on the field and then just picked them when no one did anything wrong... Just sayin

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

that woulda worked.

Jan 4, 2014, 2:43 AM

at least the game would have been smoother.

Oops....picked them up.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I try to be objective on these things

Jan 4, 2014, 2:52 AM

And I really don't see that as a throat slash. I wouldn't know what to make of it but it's not a throat slash.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

on the humdrum jumbo-tron it looked like a slash to me

Jan 4, 2014, 3:00 AM

I knew the flag was coming next. That set the tone of the game for the refs I guess.

Jan 4, 2014, 2:56 AM

A throat slash is across the throat not right below the chest. If you don't where the throat is in the human body, then you are completely clueless.

I give them the throat slash as a maybe..... But they sucked....
