I don't get the symbolism. Are they saying "Keep abortion legal or we'll strangle newborns the second they pop out of our bloody sperm holes?"

yeah, thinking the same. If they want to move the needle, they should stand in front of Clarence Thomas' house with signs that say no more sex for Republicans. If that picture got nationwide coverage, it would change hearts and minds.

You can protest outside a judge's home. Even if is it peaceful. The protections are there for judges (including their residence) so that the outcome of a case cannot be influenced by force/intimidation/etc.

That crap absolutely needs to be stopped.
I'm getting more and more to the idea that demonstrations seem to do a lot more harm these days than good. The second they turn bad, whatever message you were trying to send gets poop on it, and all it takes is one idiot or one Boogaloo "accelerationist" looking to throw in Molotovs and get the whole town burning or just one rando street thug who doesn't even know what the cause is but is looking for a chance to punch somebody in the face...and hey, boom. The town's on fire, stuff goes down, and the next thing you know there's a crowd of opportunists looting the local Target or doing Home Shopping Sprees right off Main Street. And then you get militias with guns showing up looking to get on the scoreboard in the name of Enforcing Order...
Just seems like it goes bad just way too often, these days, and all anybody ever sees is the town burning.
And as you pointed out, leaning on judges is wrong from scratch. Judges are appointed as allegedly impartial arbiters and the whole point is they're supposed to make decisions apart from political concerns. If you feel they aren't, take it up with the people who appoint the judges: the Senate.

Sorry, you are correct. Wrong word. They do not appoint judges. They do confirm judges who are nominated by the president at the Supreme Court and district court level.
The point is, if you wanna take it up with anybody, the President and especially the Senate are the ones who deserve your grief. Bothering the judges themselves is both pointless and illegal.

SMH. You want to know why it's YOU democrats taking democracy away it is right here in the post, the law, and your response.
The law is very clear, yet the democrats (and you) are choosing to not apply the law. I've said it 1000 times on this board, that this type of thing is a stupid move and will not lead to good things in the future.
You people act like a bunch of 5 year olds.
The rule of law is the root of democracy. Without it, everything falls apart and that is where the democrats are driving.

Dude, you cannot talk about the "rule of law" out of one side of your mouth and then dismiss the Trump administration's near-total regard for it out of the other.
It's lunacy.
I condemn both, why can't you? STOP THESE PEOPLE FROM LEANING ON JUDGES. It's illegal and should be illegal. If you've got a problem with what these judges are doing, talk to the Senators who appoint judges...or vote those Senators out.
Similarly, trying to overturn the will of the people in an election is also wildly illegal...and should be illegal.

NC_Tiger_: I wasn't serious. I stole the language of my post from when Republicans here used to complain about the courts. I agree with how you feel about it, and it's little vindicating to hear you smacking what the Republicans here used to post.
