shouldn't worry and panic about the coronavirus, mainly because the market tanked recently and that made him nervous. He's ticked at some woman at the CDC that said yesterday the virus spreading here was inevitable and prepare for disruptions.
It will harken back to the old GWB speech to urge Americans to keep spending money.

Couple things
The stock market isn’t the economy, it’s a beauty contest and it’s oversold at least 40%.
The last thing any president should do is insight panic. He needs to fire that cdc woman if he can.

The woman at the CDC has a job to do. Warning about the spread of the virus and how we might slow that down has to be her main concern.

He was just trying to show that this "great" economy that Trump keeps taking credit for was already underway before he was elected. The economy as a whole is pretty good right now. I am not sure how much credit Trump deserves for that.
Presidents just don't have that great an impact on entire economies. There are too many other people with their hands on the wheel.

response for China's disruption assuming it ends soon. 6-8% sounds about right, if this thing disappears tomorrow.
IF it hits here and spreads uncontrollably, look for another 20-30% drop. If we end up with it as bad as China, look for a 50% drop and massive hit to GDP.
