Some data

I basically became aware of Clemson football in 1976 (after moving back to SC from the midwest [Cincinnati Reds, anyone?] at the age of 14). That year, the Tigers went 3-6-2 with wins over Citadel, FSU, and SCAR. Woot us.

In the 40 years since, Clemson has posted THREE losing seasons, 1992, 94 and 98.

The Tigers' record since that year is 332 and 146 plus ties, for a .695 winning percentage. They have double-digit wins in 11 of those 40 seasons (#12 by the time this season is done.) They won 8 or more games in 14 of the remaining seasons. So, in the last 40 years, they have won 8 or more games 26 times.

Over those 40 seasons (to date), their average record is 8.3 and 3.65

In the last 10 years (to date) they are 95 and 34. They are on track at the moment to win 100 games in 10 years.

Pretty good.

"Clemson has been historically better than Carolina. That's pretty obvious." - Classof09

"No one knew we were overhyped until the season started." - Classof09

that's a lot of figuring.***

And Redskins. Tough going on those fronts.

since 1991 - which covers the start of the 'lost time"

Nov 2, 2016, 4:23 PM

with the team being coached by Ken Hatfield, Tommy West, and Tommy Bowden -

Clemson has had all of 4 losing seasons -

the same as Alabama during that time.

So even when we've been historically bad

(i.e. not having a 10 win season or a Conference Championship in 20 years),

we ain't been 'Coot' bad (who btw had 10 losing seasons).

It's a domination... not a rivalry.
