New look DJ

Not super tech savy so couldn't figure out how to share the videos, but just watched some videos of DJ at camp in Texas. He looks slimmer and seems to be moving better. Accuracy was on point(I know he didn't have a 300lb lineman chasing him) . Looks like he's putting the work in. Hope it pay off this fall. Go Tigers!!!

Not having a broken finger tip and sprained knee will do wonders for your throwing motion.
The kid had a horrible offseason last year and clearly wasn't able to have to focus he needed to succeed.
I suspect were gong to see a much different player this year out of DJ.

You are correct but he struggled before either of those happened

Mental stress vs physical injury
Feb 22, 2022, 9:16 AM

The physical injuries happened during the season, but Isn’t he referring to the mental stress of DJs family breaking up during the off season while he was thousands of miles away from home?
Staying focused must have been tough for DJ last spring and summer.

Look closely at the video of DJ hitting at Doug Kingsmore and you'll see he is still wearing his knee brace. It could be just a precaution or he still has knee problems.

I know he had a not-so good season last year but seems to be responding the right way. I am pulling for him!!

There was so much mechanically wrong with him last year

I just still have my doubts any improvements in what are basically laboratory conditions are going to lead to any marked improvement. My bet is still him moving to third string (and the portal) in the first quarter of the season. Nevertheless, I really hope that camps like this act like dominos, and the skills he improves on their fall into place with others and he really does turn it around.

there are a lot of things he can do to improve his game and it looks like he is willing to put in that work. I appreciate that from him. In my opinion, his biggest need for improvement is decision making between snap and throw. He needs to process his decisions better so he can put the ball in on time or get out of the rush in time. Some smoothness to the QB fakes would help as well.
The work improvement from a physical standpoint will certainly help but ultimately his success for the success we want as fans is going to be the mental part between snap and throw.

I hope he looks like an all world QB in the fall. Certainly he will look better than last year but my fear is that much like Tajh Boyd his decision making while under duress is not good. Unfortunately this is not something which can be fixed. Hopefully I am dead wrong.

Exactly. A lot of things work in lab settings that fail

in real world tests. I wish the best for him, but he looked so bad last year, all year, that I'm not sure it's a problem that can be fixed.

he’s gonna shine so much brighter (physically & mentally) in 2022!
Hoping so since he’s a good & talented young man and deserving..especially since he & family put a lot of personal stock in Clemson by coming 2500+ miles to get it done for them & us.
Go TiGERS!
